So theoretically, they could be ectothermic and could have been wearing heated armor to counteract the cold environment.

People assume that the netting gives them their heat. Personally, I dont think they really give a ****, they just pefer the warm. It's not life threating if they're in the cold.

ok, so they look a bit more armored then

I meant that they had the same basic amount of armor, not that the armor itself was the same. though yea I'm looking at more pics and I was wrong on the armor stuff, my bad

Actually some yeti searches have discovered gorilla like nests and strange droppings in the vallies, and i dont think many sightings actually are reported, but I've heard of a woman who was letting her yak or something either graze or drink form a stream, she said she heard whistling and then it grabbed her from behind and slashed her face and such, she still has scars from it

Wow, I'd never heard that story before. Well I guess it is possible that the Predators had started the whole yeti legend. It's just I had only ever heard of sightings/evidence being found up high in the Himilayas, but it's been forever since I had researched it so my memory might be a little fuzzy.

I've alway loved cryptozoology and i have some great retention ability with the stuff I truly love like cryptids and the like. i saw that story and the nest and stuff on a documentary on history channel years ago

AVP was set in an arctic climate and the human characters never take off any of the cold weather gear.

You're actually citing AVP as proof of their ability to survive the cold? Dude, setting the movie in the arctic is just ONE of MANY reasons as to why that movie sucks the big one.

I do not consider either of the AVP movies canon as far as Predator lore is concerned, because none of those writers had any God damn idea of just what the hell they were doing.

I figured you guys would point out something I forgot. I also think setting a Predator movie in a cold climate would be a little different insted of a hot climate again like the other three.

But it had been previously stated, in Predator 2 that preds are drawn to heat & conflict. You don't really get either in an arctic climate.

The AvP flicks suck ass, no doubt....but putting them in the cold actually makes sense...in terms of the story.

This is a test right? So....shouldnt a test...I dunno...be challangling? I mean, what good is a man hood test if everything's the way you want it to be?

And you also have to factor in the "fact" that pyamid wasnt always covered in ice....

The challenging part was to fight the Aliens and make it out alive.

I agree with Thundarr, the Preds don't like cold at least they could have wear some cold gear in AvP but they didn't.
AvP could have taken place in Amazonie, problem solved, no conflict with the Preds mythos.

Why not make it harder? Honestly, the cold is the least of the movie's problems.

It was the first thing that stricks me when I saw the movie.
Don't you think that fighting a swarm of Aliens is hard enough ? :)
I liked the Pyramid challenge idea but not how it was explained, the link with Egypian, Astec etc was too far fetched for my taste.

I have a soft spot for AvP ( not Requiem ) anyway, I liked the human/pred duo, and the fact that the Pred ( Scar or Wolf ? ) deemed the human worthy of tagging along when she killed an Alien by herself. I like the end too with the Elders Preds and the battle markings ( given to the human ).

What about it is far fetched?

It was completely ridiculous, historically.

Again, what makes it historically ridiclulous, isnt it hypothosized by soem that such structures do originate from some other civilization that gave birth to these others? archetiecture is being barrowed all the time from other cultures, so it isnt that far of a stretch to me, and suspension of disbeleif is awesome too

^ It's hypothesized in the same way that it's hypothesized that the Earth is hollow and there's men living on the inside.

I bet the Predators just chased her so they could watch her run away with the DAT ASS faces on.

What Kent says:
It's hypothesized in the same way that it's hypothesized that the Earth is hollow and there's men living on the inside.

It's pseudo-history.
