Pregnant Man

1)How are you sounding? Not caring for the health of an unborn child just so you can prove something through them? That is the most selfish attitude I have ever heard of:o

2)Yes, revert to me being homophobic:whatever: I understand the situation and the degree of how f***ed up it is.

3)Who cares about their kid right:huh:

4)What is wrong with adoption? Are you against it:wow: Way to be an adoptionphobic:o

1) dude we both dont know what every little detail is, you honestly think they'd do this and not worry about the child's health? sometimes things in life are worth a risk, but it's hard to say how much of a risk this is right now at this point, because everything seems A ok.

2) whatever to obviously different opinions

3) see post 1, your looking at it from only one angle...

4) i have nothing against adoption at all, not one single bit... i even plan on having an adopted kid... 2 from me and my partner and one adopted. Adoption just isn't for some people, i see both sides. how bout you plan non not having your own kids and just adopt? if your sooooo gun-ho about it

And you do:huh:

no but i see both sides... only side you see is "risk of kid" ur probably anti-abortion too nothing is black and white, i see both sides, and just put myself in there shoes from the knowledge i know of a subject to make my decision. And this is something i'd risk my life to do. but i wouldn't risk the childs unless the doctor was VERY optimistic about it.

No, we both don't know every detail...that is true. But what I do know is how hormones can affect implantation, fertilization, fetal development, as well as imbalances in the child. Even though this is a weird situation in which a woman wanted to be a man, had surgery, and then reverted back to a woman to have a kid. I know women that won't drink a drop of alcohol, be a round cigarettes, etc...avoiding anything and everything that might harm their unborn child. I am sure they want to have a child extremely bad, I just don't see the point in risking having an ill, retarted, or disabled child because you want one so bad.

I was pseudo [my dad died] adopted so I plan on having 2 kids and adopting 1:o And adoption is for everybody:o

"Come close... Feel the kicking"

I don't really count her as a man.

She was a woman once, who became a man....this is not as "cool" as I thought it would be.

Wait wait the guy was born with male genitalia and female reproductive organs right? I am too lazy to read the details... or did he have all female charactersistics and had a sex change because then it really wouldn't count in my view...

Adoption is for those who want it... heaven forbid people wanting to have there own kids too :o and some people only want 1 or 2 kids... adoption is no for everyone in terms of preference. ... and he's 5months pregnant and the baby is perfectly healthy

born a woman, had the surgery to become a legal man (though kept the ovaries, basically he has everything on the inside that is a woman, but outside man

'He' cannot be pregnant:o 'She' is pregnant. I guess you just don't grasp the complete irony of this.

he has a penis, not a vagina. and is legally a man... so he is a man. just because he was a woman and has female organs does not matter in the eyes of the law or himself. so you have no say in that ;)

The much buzzed about 'pregnant man', Thomas Beatie will be a guest on Oprah's show Thursday.

Beatie's a transgender man that is expecting a child. Though he underwent surgery to switch genders, he kept his female reproductive organs and is nearly six months pregnant.

He tells Oprah that his current wife Nancy is unable to conceive and that's the only reason he's going through with the pregnancy. Beatie was able to conceive via artificial insemination.

Thomas tells Oprah in a show clip, "I'm a person and I have the right to have my own biological child."

He expects to deliver a girl around July 3rd.

as long as the baby is healthy..and has loving parents...whats the big?

I don't see the big hoopla about this. He's going to be on Oprah tomorrow and they're advertising it as the "first man". She can call herself a man all she wants but the truth is "HE" is STILL a woman biologically speaking. There is nothing profound or other-worldly about this.

Yes she had a sex change. But that ONLY means rearranging the female outer parts to look like a male outer parts. BIG ass surgery? Yes, but it doesn't make her a "man" biologically speaking. She still has her female parts, she STILL has to take testosterone to subdue her periods, among other things.

It's irritating that the media is making this out to be a real man having a baby.

Either way I hope the baby is healthy, it sure does have dedicated and what seems to be loving parents.

Damn it.
I was going to say he was going to be on Oprah. :cmad:

Spiderman-luvr said it first.

"DAMN IT!

We was going to say he was going to be on Oprah!" :cmad:

What do they use to construct the penis in these sex changes? Its 100% artificial right? Or do they take skin else where from your body? I remember this dude from Ripley's decided to do away with his middle finger by making it his new d*** after he got cancer.

You guys are worried about the baby's life?

What the hell is that thing gonna come out of:shock?

I would be embarassed to be born from a transgender mother. You can spin that however you want it but it is awkward.

Now, if this news had been about a person who's a 'natural' man getting pregnant, then I'd be wow-ed. He was once a woman and still has a woman's reproductive organs so it's not a big deal to me.

Even a gay couple would feel more normal than a transgender parent.

I don't know if they are trying to bill this as a miracle of science or be whimsical but it is neither.
