Prince of Persia:The Sands of Time

I'm curious as to why they're using the Dark Prince effect for time travel. Maybe there's something I'm missing, which is entirely possible as I've only seen the trailer and haven't read the script.

not to mention the humor and epic scale

huge sand and Arabian castles> gritty dark buildings

I'm not sure why you guys are even bothering to respond to such a dubious comparison.

Dubious ain't a strong enough word for it.

This movie is an action adventure film produced by Jerry B.

Ofcourse he isn't perfect, some of his recent flicks have bombed. King Arthur failed because they took out the magic, so it's PG 13 rating didn't help it. And nobody wants to see his Romantic Comedies.

After all of the success that he has had with action adventure movies for the past few years I'm amazed that anyone is doubting POP boxoffice potential.

Prince of Persia doesn't even need good reviews to make huge bank. Most of Jerry B's movies get mixed to poor reviews and I think that Prince of Persia will get the same treatment.

I'm not saying it's a lock to be a success but I do think it's pretty much a lock to make over 100mil domestically. I wouldn't be suprised if it made over 250mil.

I remember when everybody under the sun thought that "awful looking-Johnny Depp is a sellout-Pirate movie" was going to fail...and it didn't. I remember when everyone thought that National Treasure was going to fail because it looked terrible, got bad reviews and Nic Cage is a hack and well, we already know how that story ends.

If G-Force can do 118mil I think that Prince of Persia can atleast match those numbers. Over the years I've learned to not doubt the power of Jerry Bruckheimer when it comes to these types of movies.

In conclusion:

Even if the movie fails at the boxoffice, it's going to fail big.

i think we also forgot to mention the "D" word, Disney

not even a "sellout Pirate movie"....a movie based on one of Disneys oldest rides...people thought that was going to go down faster than a hippie chick for a dime bag

I just found out Richard Coyle (!) is in this movie, thats my ticket bought right there. :oldrazz:

who is that??

He's an English actor, never really starred in anything that you would know, however, he starred in this British sitcom called Coupling, and he was brilliant in that, so I tend to check out anything he does. I was gonna see this movie anyways, but having him in it is all the better. :yay:

I know that Gina Bellman was in Coupling, she is in Leverage now and I like her in that

I actually heard some friends talk about the show Coupling! I haven't seen it, but I will take your word on it! :) Not like I needed any convincing on this movie anyways.

That show (Coupling) has been popping up in a few other discussions. Apparently, some of its other alums are on some other shows, including Flashforward.

I wasn't too excited just because I didn't want Gyllenhaal as the Prince, but I finally got around to watching the trailer the other day and loved it... this looks awesome.

I just hope they do Warrior Within with the Dahaka... imagine those chase sequences on the big screen.

Bruckheimer mentioned in some interview he wanted to bring the character to a sequel, but they have to see how this one does.

Bruckheimer said they are planning on just making this one. Haha terry where are you getting your info from bro? This is like the second time I've heard the opposite of you, haha. He said that they wrote it for only the one film, and that if they make a sequel, it will be a challenge to continue the story but it could potentially be done.

It was some movie site from France where it was a passing rumor. :awesome: You trying to call me out, *****?

in an interview jerry said they made this movie with it ending not expecting a sequel just like the games

but they will make another if it does well

It seems pointless to just intend on making one movie when the game series is a trilogy. Suddenly I'm not so excited anymore.

Yea but what if they finished this movie with a set up for the sequel, then the sequel never comes.

It would end up being detrimental to this movie.
