Prince of Persia:The Sands of Time

So it's possible that Prince of Persia could break the trend and the video game genre can be taken seriously as film adaptations?

I honestly don't see why not. From all the footage I have seen so far, it really looks like it is bringing the game alive in full form. I hope this movie sets the standard much higher for future video game films in the future.

Meh... I am kinda tired of Bruckheimer. The POTC franchise never really grew on me after the first film. I don't think I'll be needing more of the same. Most likely getting a pass from me, barring some rave reviews.

Really? Tired of JB? I just think he is so good at what he does and so I can't get enough of his films.

what films has this jerry bruckheimer done that he's earned this spectacular producer title??

other than pirates... he's just produced all of micheal bay's films and a bunch of mainstream movies like:

gone in sixty seconds
black hawk down
bad company
remember the titans
coyote ugly
king arthur
deja vu
Confessions of a Shopaholic
G-Force
Nation treasure 1 & 2
The Sorcerer's Apprentice

...and a bunch of unoriginal tv shows like:
cold case
CSI NY, CSI miami(ugh)
the amazing race
without a trace
Justice
Just legal

ill give him credit where it due though.. all these were somehow huge box office successes...
his name in a trailer leaves a bad taste in my mouth though.. just like michael bays name with these recent horror flicks. lol

Are there gonna be sequels for this movie?

Looks like a videogame-movie thats taken seriously for once

well the trailer is decent (not like street fighter)... and its Disney so I say why not

JB along with the late Don Simpson back in the 1980s molded the summer blockbuster into what everyone stereotypically thinks they're all like today.

In truth aside from some of those 80s flicks (AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN, BEVERLY HILLS COP) and the first POTC to be overly serious here my problem with him is that he was instrumental in dumbing down popullist cinema by making movies filled scene to scene with money shots, glossy music video cinematography, paper thin characters leading to attempts at drama that were and are generally laughable, in other words creating the platform for the Michael Bays and Brett Ratners of the movie world.

Those featurettes were awesome, and Alanis Morissette is awesome! That song was pretty sweet too.

I just think he has made a name for himself. Some of those television shows you listed are the very best on TV right now. I think for JB to conquer the film and telelvision world is also speaking a lot for his career and talents. I don't know one person who didn't like Remember the Titans....

Surprisingly, I have seen more than 90% of those movies on that list you made too, so I guess he names draws an audience...worked for me at least.
