Wow that speech and the text explaining weylands achievements is to me almost as exciting as the teaser trailer was. I mean pearce's mannerisms when addressing the public, he has such a powerful and commanding presence. I hope we see much more of his character in the film as he is the real villain of the franchise.

Agreed with both. Pearce's performance there was great, better than some actors in their actual movies.

I think its cool. Sets up Weyland and the future Weyland-Yutani Corporations over ambitious modus operandi that we have come to know in the Alien movies.

You can see how Weylands visonary ambition could be latter corrupted to control knowledge, resources, weapons and technology.

In the Alien movies the all powerful Weyland-Yutani try to control the Xenomorphs to the point where other humans are simply expendable. I can see Ridley expanding that quest to control things that human beings shouldn't onto a larger scale in Prometheus.

I think Pearce mentioned he will appear but that it's a briefly role. I'd love if this scene was in the movie but alas, it's alone a great scene.
