LOL, thanks.

In all seriousness, I agree with that dude on Collider who said that after watching the clip with Pearce, he wants to see a movie ABOUT that character. It's only a short clip, but Pearce rocks the hell out of it.

yeah i would watch a lwo budget movie with this character played by Pearce

Definitely more excited to see this movie now, it's looking great so far.

I thought Guy did a great job, totally how I pictured Weyland.

yeah i would watch a low budget movie with this character played by Pearce

It would basically be Evil Tony Stark without the armor

Pearce would have made an awesome Justin Hammer if done seriously

I find I get more impatient to see this movie with each new bit of news that's reported. It's looking to be great.

Maybe that really old bloke in the wheelchair in the Prometheus trailer is Weyland?

I think i know what the viral video is for. Its a promotional video for TED, the (possible) first in the series of androids, before Ash.

we are 3 months and 8 days away from the movie. the teaser was fantastic since it teased. it will be interesting to see how they will approach the marketing in the last 3 months. will they tease and risk or will they go full out

I'm itching to see more from the movie as well as NECA's figures.

Got a question, slightly Off-topic but still about Ridley Scott ;)

Why are there so less people that appreciate or like the movie "Body of Lies"? I love that film. Seen it already 3 times and its a clever film about the work of the CIA in the middle east.

Why no love for this film? It certainly was better than "American Gangster".

Just watched Kingdom of Heaven: Director's Cut last night, and holy cow! Whatever he said about shooting real as much as possible, he really means it. :wow:

His old school sensibility with filming everything as practically as possible (sets, locations, people, etc.) really makes for such an immersive experience and captures the sheer scale of everything. It looks like he just got his entire film crew in a time machine and filmed it when it happened. It's surreal. That's one of the things that I love about his films and am looking forward to seeing in Prometheus.

CGI, as much as I enjoy it's use in some films, just can't measure up to filming for real, no matter how realistic it looks.

I really enjoyed that film. Highly underrated thriller. Very intelligent. Some vets I know, that have seen it say it probably the best representation of the situation in the Middle East.

Can you imagine someone taking the epic David Lean approach to a science fiction film? It would be surreal. I appreciate what Star Wars Prequels, Avatar and John Carter achieved technologically, but at the end of the day it was all shot in a big green room.

Yeah I really enjoyed Body of Lies but American Gangster is one of his best works. Also I still need to see the director's cut for Kingdom of Heaven.

i think it kinda sucks that Guy Pearce's role is nothing more than a cameo

I'd like to see him do a Metroid film. Do it as a space action horror/thriller, with the type of action from Aliens but the atmosphere of Alien. It could get away with tons of creature violence and still make be PG-13, so you could still sell it to a younger audience without watering it down. Space sci-Fi should be pretty big in the next year or so, so why not strike while the iron's hot?

Also, when watching Kingdom of Heaven, I couldn't help but think Ridley Scott would be perfect for an adaptation of Berserk. The characters, the medieval-type setting, the vast landscapes, the epic battles, the violence, the sick-and-twisted imagery, etc. It's right up his alley. :woot:

Probably won't happen, but a guy can dream.

Excellent. I was going to see it anyway, but that's a cherry on top.

Ridley Scott's Assassin's Creed. He'd be the only guy who could do it justice with a studio enforced PG-13 rating. Lets not forget Mark Strong's arrow to the throat in Robin Hood!
