Anyone notice how much they are marketing this already?

I've seen at least 10 spots in the last 2 days...and it's March.

IFC is showing Alien and Alien 3 right now.

And yeah, I agree. The marketing for this movie has been great.

It's certainly visually the best looking movie of the summer.

Oh god, Noomi's got the same thoroughly unimpressed look my ex had on her face everytime I did something stupid. Get it away.

:lmao:

That shot makes Theron look like an android too.

You know, I swear I remember reading a while back that she is, but the crew and audience doesn't find out til the end. Anyone remember hearing anything about this? Could have been total BS.

Prometheus opens early in some markets.
It makes sense that now marketing is in full mode .

And i honestly hope that this movie does well at the BO. THere is alot of good will . Many people are looking forward to this movie , the cast is top notch and the fotoage so far isn't disappointing.
Of course we need to see the movie to fullly if it sucks or not but so far it looks to be a great movie. And it should succeed at the BO.

Saw the trailer at the theatre for the first time yesterday. Looks effing fantastic, online viewing does not do it justice.

I watched it on my big screen with surround sound... ridiculous. I'm a bit of a Scott fanboy, I'll admit that. But I really, really, really hope this movie is massive. Like phenomenon massive. Scott deserves a big box office success, even though i'm sure he doesn't really give a ****, seeing as he hasn't really had one in his career despite being one of the greatest film makers ever. But also because proper sci fi like this, with big ideas, big questions, fascinating glimpses into the future, stunning visuals and a certain amount of intelligence from the viewer need to come to the forefront.

There just seems like so much thought has gone into this project. And i don't just mean the movie, I mean the whole universe and setting the movie is in. With those great virals like the Peter Weyland TED Talk and the commercial for the David 8 android. It's like the film makers are going to unprecedented levels to immerse us into the film.

A couple of questions, is Logan Marshall-Green's eyeball leaking?! And does anyone else think that the force that is terrorising the landing party is some kind of prototype of the Xenomorph species? The dialogue over the radio is chilling "CUT IT OFF! CUT IT OFF!"

So do they crash their ship into the Jockey's ship to stop it from going to Earth? That is what it looks like to me in the tv spots.

Yeah, there doesn't seem to really be any other explanation. Looks like Idris' character is kamikaze-ing the ship.

That shot makes Theron look like an android too.

Could very well be.
At any rate, it should be clear by now that Charlize is playing the villain. I'm still not sure about David, though --- can't tell if he's Good Android (Bishop) or Bad Android (Ash).

Yes, he's got alien pinkeye. ;)
There's clearly *some* other aliens there besides the Jockey(s). Dunno if it's facehuggers, but there's plenty of scenes that try to indicate that. The "cut it off" can be read a coupla ways: cut the alien off (of my face, or whatever), or cut the arm/leg/other extremity off. Could be more of a plague we're looking at here....maybe some kind of infection that transforms the crew.

Hmm yea maybe it's some kind of early version of facehuggers. That quick glimpse of the thing crawling inside the guys suit. The one shot of the guy whose face appears to be burning or has something on it. Great imagery.

Every TV spot and trailer for this have just been astounding, this is definately my most anticipated movie this year, and considering I love comic book movies, that is a testament to the trailers.

Yeh, it's bloody mental how much I'm looking forward to this one too!

Are they making Noomi about to be this movie's Ripley?

Not really. They seem to be totally different characters. Only similarities are they are the female leads in Ridley Scott sci-fi films.

On the topic of Noomi, that scene in the trailer where she is wriggling around on the bed thing, does she have something on her face?

Looks to be some sort of Slug/proto-chestburster above her...

There's a pretty decent gif of it in the previous thread.

Yea i know that bit, it's from the IMAX trailer right? But in the normal extended trailer, near the end of it with all that choppy editing, where she's like, convulsing on the bed, seems like something is on her face. Hard to tell, but can't see any of her facial features.

Hmp. Well, now you've intrigued me. Gotta go check this out...

Found it.

Apparently, some folks online seem to think that Shaw
has given birth to this creature

IMO, it doesn't look like it's attacking her, it looks like it's suspended and writhing on some sort of clamp or claw.
