Prometheus - Part 9

I'm a little disappointed that Lindelof won't get a chance to explore the world he and Ridley created. Sure, the script from Prometheus was flawed, but it was full of interesting concepts to develop.
It could've turned into a generic sci-fi flick, but I found it very original and different.

Uh didnt Ridley announce a week or two ago that he had another project, not prometheus 2, lined up to do next after Blade Runner?

As one who thought Prometheus was really good, these news of a possible sequel are great.

I really wish I had seen Prometheus a second time while it was still in theaters.

Are there no dollar theaters around your area? That's how I'm still able to see it.

The theater in one of the malls around here used to show movies late in their runs. But I think that closed or something cause I can't find any listings for it.

What an inevitably convenient news story!

I'm psyched though.

the news of a possible sequel is great. i really liked prometheus :D

I saw Prometheus twice in theaters, and I am stoked to hear the sequels got the greenlight. It is the best sci-fi film I had watched since Moon, or Sunshine. And I watched Alien for the FIRST time from start to finish the other day...awesome stuff

Prometheus sequel is one of the most popular topics searches on Bing so it definetly seems like there are people intrested in a sequel.

whats interesting about this news is that its out so fast after the premiere. 2 months. if you look at the BO the numbers are not big.

at least Lindelof is not coming back. ''Damon Lindelof might not be available''

The results of that mapping showed up back on board the ship, not on any equipment he had with him, as far as I could tell. And the two scientists were cut off from communication with the ship by the incoming storm, as you see/hear the screen go glitchy and then blank from interference.

On top of that, Fifield was crazy and high on cannabis. He had an orange mohawk and a bad attitude that were an audience signpost for 'nutjob' and he was smoking pot in his spacesuit, as the other scientist noticed and stupidly asked 'Is that tobacco'.

Vickers hired these losers because she wanted the mission to fail, so she would finally inherit the company when her father croaked.

 Spot on, not to mention when you are panicked and paranoid its very easy to make a wrong turn, and weed makes you very paranoid.

A Prometheus sequel has to be done

I wonder what the title would be, though.

I hope they learn from their mistakes regarding the first installment.

Ridley Scott said a while ago the sequel would be called Paradise.

Yep Paradise which is what Prometheus was going to be called originally

I wouldn't be suprised if Ridley changed his mind again and call it Zarathustra.

Ridley's plans for the sequel are to visit the Engineers homeworld and meet 'God like creature' who is isn't exactly a nice being. Ridley views the Engineers as dark Angels.

His influenced by John Milton’s Paradise Lost which Alex Proyas movie version got the plug pulled on it like Del Toro's ATMOM.

Ridley has been secretly sabotaging other directors movies so he can use the source material in his films :funny: j/k

I think it would be awesome if the Engineers homeworld was a dead planet post apocalyptic filled with monsters made from their failed bio weapons who have almost wiped them out.

i think in an interview after the movie was out Scott said that he still likes the Paradise title and would like to use it in the sequel

I like Lindelof myself. :o

I'll see a sequel, no doubt. But I won't let myself get excited for it. I don't think Ridley Scott is all that great of director, not beyond a few early works and a couple merely good works here and there, but the Prometheus trailers bypassed that and made me excited. Spoilers be damned, whatever, those trailers were sick. I loved Fassbender and the visuals, but beyond that I found Prometheus to be just terrible. A complete dramatic and intellectual failure. The more I think about it, the less I like it, the more completely the house of cards collapses and then catches fire.

It was still better than any of that AvP horse**** though.

I can't wait for this. Unfortunately it's going to be a long time because of the Blade Runner reboot.

I am just very interested to see the answers they come up with for the questions this movie raised. We still dont know were the Xenomorphs come from, and I want to know more about The Engineers as well, will be VERY interested to see what they come up with.

I don't get the Damon hate either, It's too bad he can't come back, it lowers my excitement for the sequel for sure. At least until I know who the new writer is.

you dont understand the hate?

you dont understand that people dont like his style where the plot and the whole movie is about 10 questions that never get answered? and because of that the movie is 60% of plotholes?
