Every trailer should end with an epic Fassbender close up. Even ones he's not acting in.

I can't wait to see it in all it's glory. It's too awesome :awesome:

Is this an Alien prequel or not? Because I love the original concept for that prequel, telling the story of the mysterious "space jockey" and the Derelict.

It takes place in the Alien universe and is set before the first film. That's close enough to a prequel for me, but others may disagree. At the very least it could be considered a spin-off.

I really couldn't care less if it's related to Alien or not at this point. It looks like an awesome film. That's all that matters.

This is off topic but I thought we weren't allowed to post links to bootleg trailers on this site, isn't that against the rules or something? I remember the mods flipping out when people were posting the Avengers bootleg trailer. Just wondering if the rules changes or something?

My guess is if the studio is asking for it to be removed then it becomes a problem on the forum. I could be wrong...

Neville Page talks Prometheus

DreadCentral just had a chat with Prometheus concept designer Neville Page, mainly regarding his work on Super 8, but he also talks a little bit about Prometheus.

Although, he's still keeping tight lipped about what he actually did on Prometheus.

"There isn't much I can say about the aliens or creatures on Prometheus other than that I can confirm that there ARE beings in this world that are not human in nature. I also can't say what aspect of production I worked on for the film, but I'll tell you this little tidbit: I'm an industrial designer as well so my work on this film could involve anything from that kind of character design, it could also be creature design or it could involve costume design since I do that kind of work as well. Who knows, it could even involve all three."

"But in all seriousness, I'm like a lot of the fans out there; I still want to be surprised too when I finally see a movie I worked on so there is a lot actually that I don't really know about Prometheus, and that was intentional on my part. But I am looking forward to being surprised when it does eventually get released because I know it will be nothing short of amazing"

As Page mentioned in an earlier interview, he's a big fan of the original Alien which inspired him to become an artist, so working with Ridley Scott on a new science fiction movie was clearly a dream come true for him:

"I would have been happy if Ridley Scott hired me to take out his garbage every day if it meant that I could say I worked on Prometheus; that's how amazing it was to be working with him. I was such a huge fan of the original Alien when it came out in theaters originally that I couldn't have imagined to have ever had the opportunity to work within the world he created over three decades ago."

Alien is my favorite movie of all time. Ridley Scott returning to that universe with so many talented actors means I'm overhyped.

Is Gangs of New York a prequel to say The Departed? Irish based crime rings in the north eastern United States directed by the same director. I know the analogy doesn't quite work but sure you catch my meaning. The events of this film may have very little bearing on the stories of the other films.

Did any cast or crew from Gangs of New York or The Departed ever state that they were connected? Various cast and crew members have said this film is connected to Alien.

At another forum I visit some people made your same point, but instead of Gangs of New York and The Departed, they said Smallville and Batman Begins, and Indiana Jones and Star Wars. I thought those examples were a little ridiculous.

For what it's worth, Webster's definition of prequel: a work (as a novel or a play) whose story precedes that of an earlier work

I'm surprised a mod hasn't jumped in to clarify, they usually do.

Mods? Can I get the 411 on posting bootleg videos on hype?

Do you guys only care about the comic related stuff or what?

:wow:
