This is going to be like 1920's Batman vs Jack Napier :D

Bale plays chicken with Depp. Bale is riding a motorcycle and Depp is shooting with his Tommy gun

Dillinger- C'MON! HIT ME!

Well him and Cruise both got snuffed when they were nominated for Pirates and The Last Samurai respectively.

Pirates was fun but it doesnt deserve an Oscar. Especially of all Depps work.

Pirates was fun but it didn't deserve an Oscar. Depp's performance as Jack Sparrow, however, did.

Indeed. I can't remember a time when I saw a more original and funny take on a character. I was just amazed at that permformance by the first time seeing it. Now with three films, it lost its magic. He's still great, but we just don't get that 'wow' factor the time when we first saw it.

And Cruise got nominated for The Last Samurai?

That's the problem with sequels.

Unless they are done right, you lose that magic.

Still dont think Sparrow deserved a nomination. Depps had much stronger work that he didnt get even a nom for. Ed Wood, Blow, Donnie Brasco, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and Dead Man. Even is following nominations of Finding Neverland and Sweeney Todd have failed in comparison.

I swear to you, I think Depp needs to get away from Burton now.

His work on Edward Scissorhands and Ed Wood were great, but now he's getting pigeonholed and now people are 'hating on him'.

Thank God for Public Enemies, but I wish Depp would just move on from Burton at this point.

Yeah I have gotten tired of his "weird" roles. He need to do more "normal" characters.

You should see him in Donnie Brasco. He was friggin' amazing.

I think what he meant was, as of late, he's been too comfortable with the offbeat roles. More now than before. That's why Public Enemies is a welcome change of pace.

Yeah but the Box Office success lead to the nomination for that film (pirates) over the others you mentioned. The academy members can be hypocrits some times.

Public Enemies is coming July 1-st so the movie is going to be reviewed in our next year awards and me and the team have hopes that this will be he's first victory. He has to make an amazing performance because he is most likely to face in the ''Leading actor'' category Sean Penn, Mickey Rourke, Will Smith, Brad Pitt, Vigo Mortersen and probably more, so i have big, no wait HUGE expectation on Depp for this one and they will probably be reveald with the first trailer.
These actors has nothing lined up next year.

Isnt Brad Pitt the lead in that?

Penn appears to be the second lead...the project and plot aren't really 100% known to me so I can't give a definitive answer.

I've read a few plot outlines that say the story focuses on Adult Jack who is played by Penn...so who knows. I get the impression that Pitt plays Jack's(Penn) father.
