Q & A w/Louis Leterrier & Suggestions Box

Hello,

I think the Hulk should be kept around the 9ft height with a cunningness. Also let him do a few acts causing admiration as well as awe even though the consequences of others seem terrible.

And please reconsider on getting Eric banna back. He is a great actor as you already know (being the film fan you are), and seems to be interested in the role.

With regards to feats, hand claps would be nice as well as physics defyics feats of strength. The Abom vs. Hulk battle(s) should affect a big area and felt throughout whatever continent it is on.

Merci de nous avoir 'ecouter' meme si tous nos suggestions ne sont pas pris en compte.

Eric Bana is a good actor, but he is a horrible choice for Bruce Banner, and he was terrible in the first movie.

Oh come on man? do you have someone else in mind who most of us would agree here or do you simply hate the actor coz he's Austrailian?

he has the charisma of being a bruce banner just as he was good for playing the role of Hector in the movie Troy and he was even better when he played a ranger in Black Hawk Down, you see that's what actors do they do their best to become the character in the story having said that i think an actor should be versatile coz if he/she wasn't he'd/she'd be just another pretty face on the screen.
I suppose you would prefer Jet Li played the role for DareDevil coz Ben Afleck supposedly sucked in doing it, i thought we go and watch a movie coz we want to be entertained by a good story? in this case we're suppose to watch how Matt Murdock became DD and not Afleck turned into a martial arts freak.

I have read several posts about making the Hulk 7’-8’ & one saying how it works for Superman. Well, the Hulk is not Superman & if you want to see a human or close to human size super-hero lift large things watch Superman or someone like him.

The Hulk is the epitome of humanity’s primitive nature manifested & is exaggerated to the extreme. He is the embodiment of strength & is exaggerated to an extreme to showcase that.

In our society who is viewed as the strongest? Bodybuilder’s, power lifters, & other strength related athletes & some are proportioned to the HUMAN extreme.

The Hulk is the EMBODIMENT OF STRENGTH in a world where super-heroes with super strength are everywhere & they look relatively normal in their respective world. Well the Hulk is their societies strongest & thus his physical proportions display that in contrast to everyone else in his world , just as it is in ours.

Therefore, 7’-8’ would not translate to live action & it does not even translate to the comics he is written in regardless of the official stats.

Thus, 9’-10’ is preferable.

10' or 12' is perfect baby!
and i agree w/what you said there James

Well, “The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction” was a huge hit & if you listen to the police radio when you first enter the city & start attacking the police the lady say’s something like “look out for Banner he’s got green skin & is 12’ tall”.

Go figure.

Wes Bentley would have been a great choice if he wasn't already playing Blackheart huh?

By the way Louis has read everything and is as appreciative as can be. I WILL nail down a more informative Q & A as things have progressed since his intro here. When he's ready he said he'd tell me and we'll just archive the old thread and start a new one if the mods don't mind. He seems just as excited if not more excited than all of us on making an awesome Hulk film. Keep the suggestions up...we still have time.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned that the Hulk is the strongest one there is yet? ;) Daccy.

Hey AD --

Just wanted to volunteer to help out if you need it. I've had to edit Q&A threads in the past into something more readable :D

If you need any help cut'n'pasting and formatting things, drop me a PM.

As always, thanks for doing this!

I would just like to make the suggestion that Bruce Banner doesn't necessarily have to be a badass like the rumor Dominic Purcell. I know he's out of the mix now, anyways. You can find an intelligent, yet still muscular guy, that is more professional looking, like Bana.

I'm one of the few guys who realy like the first Hulk. And I thought the only problem was the las 12-15 minutes. Bana was fine, Jennifer Connelly was great. Josh Lucas was a great antagonist. I was impressed with it. I just don't know why it had greater expectations than it should have had.

Can't wait for your movie. Is this a marvel studios movie or not? Sorry don't know.

Great point, I agree. By the way. Nice name.

Yep it's a Marvel Studios project and the financing has been approved. That's all public info, oh and BTW Louis already stated he's looking for a "bookish" personality for Banner...he's on the right track. He's also read everything above as of today. :)

I'm pretty sure I got it handled I just wish everyone would remember to put there screen name at the bottom of each post damnit! It was more of an intro here the first time where he answered the only questions he could. This is more of a place for suggestions now so it's easy. However the next Q & A will surely be more "juicy" to quote LL. :) Oh and it might not be exactly what you think next time as far as how it's gonna be done. ;)

<laughs in a monstrous evil way before exiting the forum>

^Bana is awesome in those other movies,so I can see why they hired him to play Bruce in the first movie. But he did a horrible job,he was like a robot, showed no human emotions, didn't make you even like the Bruce character at all.

In Bana's defense it's the way his character was written in that film. He was a bottled up, emotionally vacant character. He didn't know who he really was, he really had no life, he drove around on a freaking bike...you know Steve Carrell keeps poppin in my head for this role and no he's not my top choice, and he's a bit older...but something strikes me about him.

I thought he was Incredible

I would like to see him use his strength and establish he's the strongest one there is.

A few ideas are

He could run right through a mountain.

Or, he could run through a mountain and tear it in half ala Home Base.

Or catch a falling train (which would show his heroic side as well.

train10ee.jpg

^That would be cool to see Hulk go through a mountain to rescue people on a train.

Hulk jumping from underwater w/a depth of 3 miles and the water holds no pressure on him not even a bit as he rockets out of the lake or ocean, that be superb to watch!

What do you guys think of this as far as showing the HULK's strength?

denmarkquake1mm.jpg

Read what it says.

That would be kind of cool. Something similar we'll get I'm sure. Hulkquake.

Above comment and both pics sent.

Hi Louis,

When casting Bruce Banner, please consider going for someone who is not tall and muscular. Banner should be of modest stature ( he's around 5'9" in the comics ) and he should be somewhat skinny.

Everyone's always picking on Banner because he is "puny." That would make it more of a contrast when he does transform into the Hulk.

IOW, someone of unassuming size and build transforming into the most powerful being on the planet.

You know what I just thought about. We've never ask LL if he is going to continue allowing the HULK to do his mile jumps in the movie. He said that it would be more like the tv show. And we all know how watered down that version of the HULK was. So, my question is are we still going to have a HULK much like the comics that can jump? And I hope so, other wise I'm not sure if I'd actually be interested in the movie at all.
