Questions on SM3...

I don't read Spiderman comics (I'm more of X-men ) so I know very little of whats gonna be going on in the movie unlike some of you. I'm a fan, but not a die-hard sort of fan and i've seen both movies (puts X-men 3 and FF1 to shame if you ask me), but just need some questions to be answered:

1. Whats the story of venom? What does he have to do with Peter (in SM3 anyway)?

2. Who's that sandman? Was he in the comics (have a strong feeling he was)?

3. Why does venom "inhabit" Peter in SM3?

I have more but I'm a bit exausted and lazy right now. Answers are very appreciated.

actually, i reckon you should go and watch the film without any background knowledge of the events that are about to occur and then come back and ask for the comic references and how the stories differ...


it's fairly rare on these boards to not know generally what is going to happen in these films before they do occur so i would take advantage of your current naiive state and just go, sit back and enjoy the film as much as you can.

1. in the comics eddie brock had a bad child life. it is probably the same in the movie. in the movie i am guessing peter meets brock in the daily bugle but when brock sees gwen talking to peter he gets kind of furious.

2. sandman was in the comics and was introduced in amazing spider-man # 4 in 1963.

3. the reason why the symbiote inhabits peter is because the symbiote needs a host to bond with forever. it takes complete control of peter and making his attitude change and it makes him do mean things.

1. Venom is the anti hero in the comics but looks more like a more out get revenge on Peter bad guy. Venom is essentially the spawn of Eddie's rage with the help of the symbiote(the black substance on Spider-Man). Eddie thinks Peter ruined his life and is out to exact revenge on him.

2. Sandman is really Flint Marko...an escaped con. He just hates Spider-Man because he gets in the way of his robbings and typical bad guy behavior.

3. Venom does not inhabit Peter...the symbiote does. The symbiote is supposedly looking for a human host in order to survive. It just so happens to give the wearer enhanced powers but affects the mind as well.

1. Venom is the anti hero in the comics but looks more like a more out get revenge on Peter bad guy. Venom is essentially the spawn of Eddie's rage with the help of the symbiote(the black substance on Spider-Man). Eddie thinks Peter ruined his life and is out to exact revenge on him.
