basically what it comes down to now a days is that along as you can make them money they don't care what color you are
Minor tweaks wouldn't be a problem. Avoiding using a stereotypical name might be however. Bruce Wang for example is a little too asian.Probably because black is seen as the opposite / reverse of white by Westerners.
Plus, the names would be kind of an issue with the other groups mentioned.
I'm a little too drunk right now to say for sure, but this seems like a pretty interesting point.
but the whole argument of... 'it isn't fair to have so many white superheroes' and the first action taken being to turn them black is just wat I'm saying as unfair. it's a little confusing to explain, wat I am trying to say is, if the argument is that there are just not enough proportionate colored superheroes, it's not fair to always focus on changing them to black while still ignoring all the other races, if that is even a justified reason for any change at all. by the way jaymes, i thought you didn't like this threadYou could do that too honestly. I think an Asian Bruce Wayne could work just as well as a black or white or whatever ethnicitied Bruce.
as we discussed pages and pages back, black is a minority, as are all the other races. I don't care wat westerners see it as.Probably because black is seen as the opposite / reverse of white by Westerners.

wats so funny chief? did you not read my op? why not say something back instead of leaving hurtful comments like this?
Thisfor so many of you to say making a character from literature like bruce wayne or james bond turned black brings back a few main points from my op. one of them being, that black and white actors have equal opportunities in hollywood.
with that being said, it's pretty much proven with y'all talking and discussing how it would not matter making them black - but if they were to change the character's race, why change it to black? why is that always the first choice of difference? why not change him to be asian? or brown? or hispanic? if we are going to have change at all?

Wait. Are you saying white and black actors have the same opportunities in Hollywood, or that they should have the same opportunities?
i mean hell, I could definitely be wrong
You are. Embarrassingly so.
Oh, absolutely not. African-Americans have made enormous advances. There are a whole host of bankable stars who are African-American. Can you name one bankable Asian-American star? No. There isn’t. You have Denzel Washington, Samuel Jackson. A whole host of them. One can’t name a single Asian-American whose name you can take to the bank and get a project financed.
Okay, one East Asian actor who doesn't star in kung fu action movies.
Ken Jeong.
You could do that too honestly. I think an Asian Bruce Wayne could work just as well as a black or white or whatever ethnicitied Bruce.
and as george takei even said,
how's that for you, moviedoors? am I still embarrassing myself?
Yes.
To be fair, it was really, really poorly written.did you even read my whole post?
