Yes lets not trust pictures on your computer screen and trust a second hand account by someone who isn't working on the production.

So you agree with me that Whiskey Tango is wrong to ***** about how the webbing on Raimi's suit in the sun was silver and therefore a crappy looking suit when this suit while not as silvery is pretty much the same thing? Don't you think that was a troll comment to begin with and therefore warranted my pointing out of how stupid that post was which lead to all this stupid ****?

 dude i never even read or was aware of this back and forth between you two. i stated this several post ago (your post i replied to was self contained etc etc)

keep me out of it, i am here for different reasons, which i have explained.

That's fine then, don't jump in the middle! Agree to disagree and all that. I am sure we can both agree that the costume looks good and that's all that should matter.

And again for the last time ever in the history of man...it is silver when it's being reflective. I said that. It is silver. I pointed out how it was silver to the person saying how Raimi's suit was terrible because it was silver. When it's not in direct light it is the gray, gun metal and all that.

indubitably.

It weird,
I HATED the suit in the first movie.
Well,Before actually seeing the movie that is...
Leading up to the release I had nothing but hate for it.
But after actually seeing it...It grew on me.
There were still things I disliked about it(Silver shoes, leg stripes,no belt)
But overall I thought it looked pretty nice on screen and I accepted it as the suit for this set of movies.

And now, after I've grown keen to the suit, they change it up completely.:lmao:
And do pretty much what I was whining for in the first movie.
So now I'm used to the first version and this new version looks strange.
Awesome...but strange
Possibly due to the fact that it reminds me so much of the suit in the Raimi movies.
They actually have quite a few differences.
I think it might just be the raised, silver webbing(It's silver to me. I don't want to join that argument.:cwink:) That makes them look so much alike at first glance.

I like it though.
And I'm sure it will grow on my like the last one did.
Especially since it's the classic look and all.

I love the big eyes.

I've warmed up to those eye lenses now. I reckon TASM costume layout and colours with the new webbing and lenses would've been excellent.

Slightly better than Raimi's costumes. I didn't liked his costumes, but the new one isn't that much better to be the best... But the lenses are best!

This seems like a fun, stupid argument...I'm in! :awesome:

So you agree with me that Whiskey Tango is wrong to ***** about how the webbing on Raimi's suit in the sun was silver and therefore a crappy looking suit when this suit while not as silvery is pretty much the same thing?...I called it silver in a "relative and general sense of the word".

I think you misunderstand the relationship between color and the specularity of material. The bold would be entirely inaccurate, as silver is NOT gray.

And once again...it is silver when the webs are reflecting light...

Silver is NOT grey. Silver is based solely on the specular reflective quality (ie: mirror finish) of the material, not the actual pigment. Yes, the intensity and hue of light can change the appearance of a color, but since it is not pigment that determines silver, a color cannot magically become silver when light reflects off of it. And no, simply because a material reflects light does not make it silver. ALL things relflect light - it's how we see color. But glossiness does not automatically equal silver.

which was designed like that for a reason

Yes, you are correct that they choose the material to have a high gloss in order for the shadows and highlights to be more obvious, giving the webbing a sense of depth. But again, this is NOT silver in any way, shape, or form.

Here is a color diagram of the different webbing. On the left we have the ASM2 suit, and on the right we have the SM3 suit. Below is the primary color of each suit's webbing, with examples of both highlighted and shadowed sections. These colors were taken directly from the photos using Photoshop's eye dropper tool. (note: the beveled edges of the SM3 suit are colored black, to give the webs more depth, while the webs on the AS2 suit are not beveled, and are all one base color).

As you can see, these two sets of colors are no where even close to being in the same, or even similar family. The SM3 suit, due to it's silver-like material, reflects lighter colors, such as blue. The ASM3 suit, however IS grey. Yes, it does have a gloss finish, allowing for better reflection of light, but that, once again, does make it silver.

So yes, these web designs are similar, but only so far as they both have a gloss finish. That, however, is where the similarities end.

With those new set pics, this has just become my favorite spider-man suit

Great comparison. It's that glossier finish on the SM3 costume and the greater reflectivity that turns me off the design the most. It's just too much imo.

I was still a little hesitant to say so after those stunt pics last week but the ones today look perfect. Cannot wait to see it in action.

Wow, yeah. That's amazing. I love it.

Jamie Foxx, meanwhile, looks like a combination of every nerdy loser ever put on film.

well that´s kinda the point isn´t it?

The only thing I don't really like about Dillons design is that weird combover. I mean, I have never seen a black man's hair look like that, it just looks really weird to me.

Tis a really minor complaint that doesn't actually bother me though.

That suit on the other hand, my god that suit looks perfect, and it doesn't look like a direct knock off of Raimi's suit either.

The lighting in the latest pics make the red and blue look so good. The blue looks brighter than I thought it'd look.

Thanks. While making the image, I noticed how the ASM2 spider is actually a part of the mold for the webbing, where as Raimi's spider is just laid over the webs. Minor detail, but I like it.

I think that's the only problem. It's too cliche.

Well, I think that's the point: He's so pathetic that he literally is a walking cliche. In any case, we'll only see that for a couple of scenes before he turns into electro.

You know what?
Scratch what I said in the post above.
The suit is ****ing amazing.:woot::woot:

They tweaked it but it is the same basic design.

Amazing Spider-Man was the lowest grossing Spider-man movie ever. The costume was horrible and it looked like hot garbage. They needed something that looked reminiscent of the classic more successful trilogy. Pretty clear and cut and dry to me.

You're absolutely right. And not only that, the comics use a design reminiscent to Raimi's as well so the comics would be successful like the movies. And here I thought that Batman was the detective :o

If they where going to the classic design, I would rather they have just plain used the Raimi costume. IMO, this one just does not look good.
