The Bills released Shawne Merriman. Did he even play a single game with them? Seems like the guy has been permanently injured since 2009.

Every offseason he declared that he was back to his former self and then, well...
Did absolutely nothing.

Can you imagine if he was though? Merriman, Williams, Anderson, Dareus all coming after the QB. Would have been fearsome. Alas, football is a cruel mistress.

I just assumed his play was due to the juice. He was a beast, then he got caught and hasn't even been an NFL-level talent since.

Ryan Tannehill has been announced as the Miami Dolphins starting Quarterback

Atleast until Matt Moore returns after leading the Rays to the World Series. Moore 4 Lyfe!

Matt Moore will inevitably be traded to Green Bay where he'll be named the starting quarterback.

I agree but considering the current culture in this country I won't be shocked when this blows out of proportion.

Which will lead to people criticizing the NFL (as well as the NBA and MLB) for not joining in the campaign against bullying. And that would be a major PR nightmare for the NFL, which prides itself on it's "Play 60" Campaign.

If the same thing were to happen in NBA or MLB, they too would be criticized for not joining Anti-Bullying campaigns.

I haven't been following but is Sanchez still the starter for the Jets?

No, no, you have it wrong. Merriman never had talent, it was da juice

Well, I know we always say that Roger Goodell has a big ol' crush on England and desperately wants to start an NFL franchise there, but as it turns out, he must really hate our friends across the pond. This is just sadistic.

Jaguars commit to four home games in London

LOS ANGELES — London's Wembley Stadium is set to become the Jacksonville Jaguars' home away from home as the NFL team announced Tuesday it would play a home game there in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.

Jaguars owner Shad Khan and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced the plan on Tuesday, with Khan saying he hoped to raise the club's profile overseas and at home.
"The Jacksonville Jaguars will be a bold and ambitious NFL franchise," said Khan, who purchased the Jaguars in January.

The four-year agreement is in keeping with growing the team's brand globally, he said, adding that it was also a chance to raise the profile of the Jacksonville area.

"This is a priceless opportunity to share the business, tourism and lifestyle story of Jacksonville with international audiences, and I know it will give the Jaguars a unique and powerful identity within the league and beyond," he said.

In addition to the Jaguars' 2013 game in London, the league is working to add a second game in the United Kingdom next year, with the intention of finalizing details in the coming months.

The 2012 NFL schedule features the St. Louis Rams hosting the New England Patriots at Wembley on Sunday, October 28.

As someone that lives in London and has been to two of the Wembley games (Saints/Chargers and Bears/Bucs), I was disappointed when I heard the news.

I don't doubt that it'll still sell really well over here but... Jaxonville? Come on, Roger. :o

Hopefully they'll get some good teams to play them so it won't be a total waste of time for you guys.

I kind of hope the Jags become relevant so the Brits won't have to see **** football every year.

Well, they might have the chance to see the Jags get beat down four years in a row. I guess it could be fun watching a **** team get blown out 42-6 year after year.

Watch Blaine Gabbert become the 2nd coming of Johnny Unitas and become the face of American Football in London.

Not really sure why I did this, but I just started a @BlameGabbert twitter account. Check it out, because I could use some followers.

Who wants in on the "Which Week Will Sanchez Get Benched Pool"?

I'm going with week 4 against the 49ers.

My guess will be sometime in the 2nd half of the first game. That fan base will be screaming for Tim Tebow during Half Time

Will the Teboneheads truly be a factor in New York though? I mean, it seems likely, but I would imagine that most of the people who attend the games have been season ticket holders for a while now (like Fireman Idiot) and New York fans tend to turn on anyone when they are sucking, as I understand it. So if Sanchez blows (which he will) and Tebow replaces him (which he will) because the fans were whining for a quarterback change (which they will) and then Tebow proceeds to suck even more than Sanchez (which he will), I could see them turning on him in a second.

I'm gonna say sometime during week 7 against the Pats. They could possibly go into that game with a 3-3 record. If Sanchez plays poorly they may open up with Tebow going into the 2nd half, then give him more snaps in the next game against the Dolphins before going full Tebow after the bye.

So I say the boat starts really rocking in week 7 then Tebowmania part 2 is full on in week 10 against the Seahawks. The Jets have a winnable game after that against the Rams so if Tebow strings together a 2 game win streak out of the bye, that will be all the Jets need to trade Sanchez.
