I was talking about when they were in Los Angeles, though I haven't read up why the Rams moved in a long time.
I'm not saying that eventually a L.A. team wouldn't eventually succeed but a team would have to hit the ground running because people think if LA fans would just automatically support whatever team that moves there. It'd be a few year process and the team is going to have to do well.I'm tired of posting about the reasons why Raiders and Rams left, but it had alot to do with their respective owners and not because LA drove them out. Al Davis left because he wanted another stadium that isn't the LA Coliseum, and even after Irwindale offered him millions for a proposed new stadium, he took the money and ran anyway. And Georgia Frontiere pretty much sabotaged her team and even threatened to sue the league unless they let her move her team, which was back to her own hometown in St. Louis.
And what's ironic about all these is that neither Raiders nor Rams got a new stadium after their relocation, with Raiders rumored to move in with the Niners in a stadium in Santa Clarita, and Rams were promised to get a new public-financed stadium but that promise never materialized. Los Angeles had supported Rams for 49 years so I don't understand what is all these talks about the city not willing to support a football team.
But anyway, if NFL wants to make money, they will go to Los Angeles instead of staying at Jacksonville, which for all their supposed support for the Jaguars, still have games that were blackouted by the league.
Who's up for a round of Jaguaring?
I know Matt doesn't like the move but it fills a need.
Jaguaring? What the hell?
Who are you most looking forward to watching on "Hard Knocks"?
Chad Ochocinco - 36%
Reggie Bush - 13%
Ryan Tannehill - 11%
Lauren Tannehill - 40%
I'd just rather see Philbin get a year to really make the team his own and establish a locker room culture before such a disruptive force is brought in.
Our pal Rowsdower will love this. The newest sports fan craze: Jaguaring
