Sequels Recasting the X-Men for the MCU

If DJ Cotrona uglies himself up more I could see him working as Logan.

It'd be hilarious if they went with DJ Cotrona as Wolverine and Armie Hammer as Cyclops

I wonder if josh duhamel is too old for cyclops. He would be great for an animated series like cyclops

Seriously how was this woman not paid enough to be Storm? They should've moved heaven and earth to get her. This is one of those things you go back in time for to rectify!

Anyway going back to reality, Tika Sumpter for Storm!

Angela Bassett would've made a magnificent Storm but honestly as miscast as Halle Berry was for Storm (and as hated as she was by the fans, as the franchise progressed she did go from: "I was reduced to playing a comic book character" to demanding for a bigger role after her Oscar win), we have a bigger issue that still prevails today, and I'm not just talking about the director lol

just throwing another name out there for Wolverine...
but has anyone else ever mentioned /considered, Eoin Macken?

He's almost 6ft and not burly enough. I hope we don't get another Hugh type.

^once/as long as you surround him with other guys over 6 feet, that "almost 6ft" would make a noticeable different

just saying
(not just for him but anyone in that height range)

Hmm Endzo not quite sure what you're getting at.

Is it that Halle Berry being an Oscar winner (unlike Angela) helped the role, just like many people feel JLaw's Oscar helped Mystique?

Because then yeah I agree it's a Fox issue. Since Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper disappeared into their roles in GOTG I don't doubt this will be rectified by Marvel when they get their hands on X-Men. The character comes first!

I forgot to add a Tika Sumpter picture, so...

You hit the nail on the head.

At least now we're free of Berry and her "Kiss my black ass" shenanigans. Plus you can also genuinely tell Berry was forever grateful to Singer for bringing her back for DOFP especially on that Comic-Con panel and on that behind-the-scenes interview on the blu-ray.

Unfortunately now we have Xavier's retconned step-sister, a non-X-man, who for a decade was a mutant messiah (ten bucks says this will be forgotten with in DP), became the leader of the X-men the next decade (who supposedly came up with the name "X-men" *snicker*). Who knows what shoehorned role she'll have in Dark Phoenix and what embarrassing lines she'll get from Kinberg.

Anyways sorry for going off on a tangent lol

A big no from me with Tika Sumpter she doesn't look much like Storm with her more sharp catlike features.

Ajiona Alexus looks like Storm

Admittedly it would need to be more of a teen version of her or mid 20 something version.

Also another name to throw out there for possible Wolverines options. He has the badboy look down not too tall at about 5'9/5'10 and doesn't look too pretty boyish. Michael Malarkey:

I like the idea of being inspired by Spider-Man homecoming's cast that looked like the world outside your window in 2018 and beyond

Cyclops- Ludi Lin

Jean Grey - Sarah Hyland

Iceman - sunny pawar

Beast - rico Rodriguez

Angel - kelvin Harrison Jnr

I like your pick for Wolverine  but to be fair, the cat-like appearance was actually a trait of Storm's during Claremonts run. They even had a few characters point out her car eyes

Another great Wolverine pick who is GET THIS... 5'7!

More race bending huh? Keep it.

And Ned Leeds has never been of Hawaiian descent

Changing a character's race is not the equivalent of drastically aging a character down. That's like saying Tony Stark has always been a bit immature and boyish in the comics so that means he should be an 8 year old kid in the movie adaptation. The dynamic between Bobby and the X-Men would be completely changed. He wouldn't be able to fight, he wouldn't even be able to crossover with Spider-Man or other heroes because he'd be in Elementary School. What is the point of such a pointless change?

Its for the sake of not staying true to what the character character looks like in the comics and reinventing characters when its not even needed in the 1st place.

Wasn't Betty brant played as a high schooler in the last movie? But she's never been a high schooler in the original series. Plus iceman was kind of like the kid brother of the team on the ultimate xmen which wouldn't surprise me if that served as an inspiration for the MCU xmen so there's more of a precedent than the brant situation

Taylor Kitsch as Logan/Wolverine?! He's currently 36, is also Canadian and maybe a little on the tall side, I suppose.

^idk? is it too soon to start reusing actors from the previous movies

I'd kinda prefer some fresh faces

I know it's been done before (Chris Evans Johnny Storm - Cap.) comes to mind, but, still

at least not for a main character, maybe in a smaller support role, or something
