Sequels Recasting the X-Men for the MCU

Professor X - Liam Cunningham
Magneto - Daniel Craig
Cyclops - Scott Eastman
Storm - Kerry Washington
Jean Grey - Alison Brie
Wolverine - Gerard Butler
Gambit - Channing Tatum
Nightcrawler - Diego Luna
Colossus - Whatever guy was in Deadpool was perfect (CG Character)
Beast - Voice by Idris Elba but is a CG character

Ooh, I like Cunningham as Prof. X.

I don’t actors like that for fan casting however I would like a racial diverse team that I have faith the heads at Marvel can make happen. The X-Men are know are known for being a diverse group of people with dynamic personalities and accents, so I’d like to see this:
Cyclops: a small town American jock
Jean Grey: the New York uptown girl
Storm: Kenyan goddess
Sun fire: Japanese hot head
Wolverine: fowl mouth Canadian
Rogue: sassy southern belle
Gambit: flirtatious Cajun
Psylocke: Euro-Asian telekinetic ninja
Colossus: gentle Russian giant
Beast: football star turned scientist

Another honorable characters I like to see on the team Havoc, Polaris, Thunderbird, Jubilee Bishop just to differentiate from the Fox films. Definitely want to see the gold and blue teams in a movie.

a X-men team including Storm, Bishop and Jubilee as active members would be pretty diverse (and awesome). Add a native american in at least 2 movies and producers and studio are set.

cool! I wouldn't mind. someone pointed out what a great character Cunningham is in Game of Thrones some time ago. Him, queen of thorns and the hound A+

I think they need to throw a latino/hispanic into the mix. Maybe a brotherhood member? a human friend?

The two demographic groups who desperately deserve heroes right now are Hispanics and LGBT populations and, sadly, there are no standout Hispanic superheroes, but they could easily switch their color on a popular hero. I wouldn't mind Bishop or Jubilee. Fortunately, we do have Iceman and Northstar for possible gay heroes.

On second thought, if they do a total reboot, Cyclops could make a fabulous Hispanic leader and superhero for the franchise.

Robbie Reyes. If Marvel used Ghost Rider again I think they'd use his version. That would be prominent.

I would love that. I think they will have to do a mix of people from different teams but if they do the original uncanny xmen with cyke and angel and an all white cast it just wouldn't work like it did back in the '60s as an allegory for Jewish assimilation.

Plus if you look at the shows the young people are watching like shadowhunters or whatever you can see people are used to diverse casts

I like the idea of a diverse X-Men team. But the team you suggested might be too big. The one thing the X-Men films have struggled with has been balancing their ensemble casts. Marvel has been better in that regard but they've gotten obvious help from the solo movies.

Also, I'd prefer they didn't portray Cyclops as a jock. I know that's how a lot of people see him, and I sort of get why, but I've always considered that a misinterpretation of the character.

I would prefer Scott and Jean stay Caucasian if they did an O5 movie. But Iceman and Hank could be open ethnicity. Possibly Warren too

Why Warren over Scott or Jean? Sure, Jean's hair colour is iconic but apart from that they seem more open to change of ethnicity than Warren Worthington III. Warren's background is clearly defined by him being an old-money wasp. Jean on the other hand is an everywoman and Scott is a military brat turned orphan whose real family is the X-Men.

I still really like Colm Feore as Prof. X. And I see he's about the same age now as Sir Patrick was when they shot the first film (59).

A lot of people forget that Xavier in the comics wasn't originally British, so I wouldn't mind a return to his New England roots.

I would not want the team to be that big I just want Marvel to use any of those characters that we have not either seen or poorly mishandled in the Fox films. Their have been teammates to pass on, so I would not mind a team member passing during a mission to replace with another character.

He was already a frost giant

My same logic for bringing back Lee Pace for Mr. Fantastic.

Laufey's already toast, so there's no risk of crossing the streams. :woot:

Haha ew that metaphor makes me think of something gross. Glad laufey and professor x won't be doing that!

Whoever suggested Taylor Kitsch as Logan/Wolverine in the MCU under Feige I can actually get behind that casting choice

We could really use a latino superhero now. Spidey should've been latino. I think X-Men could sneak one in, especially as they add new characters from the comics like Blink who wasn't Asian in the comics but Fox cast an Asian actress twice in the role.

Just don't go killing two birds with one stone and give us a latino gay superhero! I'm not sure Latin American countries are as open to homosexuality as the U.S., although films like Do it like an hombre suggest countries like Mexico are starting to open up to them.

That's like saying don't have Latino characters because some American audiences don't like them.

There's a good handful of Latinx characters spread across the X-Men line, and more in the rest of the Marvel U, although there's not really a Latinx Marvel or DC super-hero on the level of what Black Panther is for Africa. The most famous Latino super-hero (for American audiences at least) is probably Zorro.

Would definitely be great to see characters like sunspot and America Chavez though

Hell yeah. And like, the real Sunspot with the solar-powered super-strength, not the one with the Human Torch act they gave him in DofP.

Feral and Rictor too. And Echo.
