Sequels Recasting the X-Men for the MCU

The comics may not back me up on this one, but I've always felt Storm's powers make her less of a melee character unlike Rogue and Psylocke. And don't get me wrong, Rogue and Psylocke are drawn in a very curvy way, but I think it'd be nice if Storm were a bit chunkier and I'm thinking of Beyoncé's body type when I say this.
Kinda like how Wasp is usually this trim waif while Evangeline Lilly got jacked as sh** for the sequel.

On that note, it'd be perfectly okay for the X-Men and students to, y'know, develop physically over the course of the franchise as they train up. Now that I think about it, I kinda like the idea that when Wolverine shows up, he's so stupidly ripped compared to the others that people are afraid to tell him it looks weird.

Ansel Elgort as Scott Summers
Olivia Cooke as Jean Grey
Ezra Miller as Bobby Drake
Cameron Monaghan as Hank McCoy
Luke Benward as Piotr Rasputin
John Boyega as Warren Worthington III
Hailee Steinfeld as Kitty Pryde
Zoey Deutch as Anne Marie
Ryan Potter as Kurt Wagner
Jack O'Connell as Logan
Lana Condor as Jubilation Lee
Brandon Larracuente as Remy Lebeau
Wallis Day as Emma Frost
Lindsey Morgan as Raven Darkholme
Tyler Hoechlin as Victor Creed
Keke Palmer as Ororo Munroe

You really picked the look well! I’d have to agree with other fans though, Wolverine should be shorter and where can I see more of your rogue ( zoey deutch )? I think iceman should be Latino and angel should be blonde. Night crawler is the one who could be played by a any ethnicity and you’ve got storm representing black people.

And I was thinking just the other day, with a cast this young they’d really have to be careful with stars that suddey blow up like Jennifer Lawrence did because their demands and popularity can really ruina. Franchise. I’d say they could cast older like they’re doing with avengers OR...

They could recast everyone for every film. Comic books often get drawn by different artists and as a result characters can look quite different from one issue to the next. Why not let different actors take a shot at it each film? I heard there’s a chance Thor will be replaced soon.

Although Disney will probably recast X-Men for diversity points I really don't think it's necessary. Nobody really watches the "acting" in these movies anyway...they want a simple yet exciting story. Doesn't have to be a literary work of art.

Hopefully they will take stories from the Joss Whedon era...those were different.

Do we really wanna go down that route? X-men is already diverse, i would keep their original cultural heritages. We got Russians, Jews, Canadians, Africans, Southerners, Japanese, Native Americans, Cajuns, Germans, Englishmen etc.

i agree, giving us a Latino superhero in either xmen or f4 would pretty much do the trick. And then you’ve got all the mutants that will require heavy make up sessions for their outlandish skin tones and that’s where you can really cast talented actors without worrying so much about their color

Take for example zoe saldana and Dave Batista in guardians, they’re great!! Zoe really delivered in infinity war

I'd actually love to see Keiynan Lonsdale as Iceman.

Dewanda Wise -- Storm
Alexandra Breckenridge -- Jean Grey
Pierce Brosnan - Magneto

THis sucks. Now all comic book movies are ******** MCU kiddie flicks. At least Fox tries to target an older audience. Now theres nothing left for comic book fans that want a serious toned super hero movie. Hopefully WB doesnt cave in and target the mainstream family crowd as well.

Tell me about it but I'm hoping for the best. People will say your just mad even though you have valid concerns don't let them dissuade you from speaking your mind.

Lmao

Good one.
Thanks for the laugh.

Thandie Newton-Storm
Olivia Cooke-Kitty
Camilla Belle-Jean
Jensen Ackles-Cyclops
Scott Caan-Wolverine
Ben Kingsley-Professor X
Daniel Day Lewis-Magneto
Emma Stone-Rogue
Dave Franco-Iceman

Jensen would definitely be a fun Cyclops. It would be interesting if they ever got him to meet Chris Evans’ cap since Ackles came pretty close to getting that role originally

Why Ben Kingsley? Just because he's bald? That's unimaginative.

They used Ben Kingsley for the fake Mandarin anyway in Iron Man 3.

Emma Stone as Rogue would be quite a casting.

but as great as she is, Id preffer a new face. she was already Gween, Id love to have the ultimate Rogue to be played by an actress that hasnt played a comicbook character before, at least not from another superhero movie. I know MS has done this sometimes, but Rogue is too special.... I hope they find someone that feels totally fresh and spot on.

I'd bet money on either Saoirse Ronan or Elle Fanning being cast as MCU Jean Grey.

If they go older then it'll probably be Emma Stone, IMO.

you got me with emma stone there. I know she has the acting chops, but I didn't think she had the look, but then I went on google and...

But wait a minute! You can't cast Rogue without casting Gambit. No more of that Iceman + Rogue nonsense! :funny:

I still think Iceman should go to a latino actor. Don't get me wrong, I love white people, but we don't have any superheroes representing latinos in the MCU just yet. They cast a black woman as a Valkyrie for Thor, I'm sure Marvel's got some more of that coming with X-Men and I think that, since latinos are a huge comic book movie consumer, they should feel the love a little bit more, no?

Camilla Belle shouldn't be Jean. She and her ex Joe Jonas should play Aurora and Northstar. They already look like brother and sister.

No thanks! Just let them introduce actual Latinos like Sunspot or Cecelia Reyes.

I wouldn't mind the actors to skew a bit older for the characters.

Professor X - Victor Garber
Kitty Pryde - Naomi Scott
Cyclops - Matt Bomber
Jean Grey - Olivia Wilde

Matt Bomer is perfect for Northstar.

for Cyclops I think he lacks a certain vibe.

You know what would break my heart? Logan Marshall-Green as Wolverine. Not because he wouldn't be good (or because he's already got the first name), but because Tom Hardy has come up a lot as a pie-in-the-sky pick for the role, and LMG is just now finally getting the "discount Tom Hardy" stink off with Upgrade beating Venom to the punch.
