Sequels Recasting the X-Men for the MCU

Yes, gotta keep in mind that these characters are likely going to be taking over from the Avengers. So like what I said about Reed (who should be 36-42 range) they're in it for the long haul. The main members should be under 30 years old (Scott, Jean, Beast, Storm etc) So mid twenties to late twenties.

And I really like JP's picks for Scott and Jean. How about Logan Browning for Ororo? She looks exactly like comic Storm and she's a terrific actress

She's way too short. Some people are saying the next Storm has to a be dark skinned black woman too. I don't know if that's necessary but I do think facially she is a dead ringer to how she should look imo.

Kat Grahm imo is also perfect if we're ignoring height (and that's only if we give them the RDJ stilts). She has this very royal yet mysterious quality to her too.

For Storm, I'd rather a actress with more african traits and darker skin tone, someone like Lupita who's already part of the MCU. Unfortunately there aren't many african american actresses in Hollywood.

Some of the X-Men are gonna be cast younger, some older; on Evolution Storm and Beast were faculty, while in Ultimate X-Men they were in the first wave (and even started dating which is its own discussion). Wolverine's one of the only field members that can only be shown one way, age-wise.

There's so many permutations of the team we're likely to see, and that's before we even get into the age dynamics. It's like you gotta fan cast everybody twice just to cover all your bases.

Actually, now that I think about it, there are just as many X-People who are uniformly depicted as young, like Kitty or Jubilee. Colossus in particular was the youngest of the Giant-Size recruits. Nobody's gonna open the reboot with Kitty as vice principle.

The only actor from the current movies that I wish we could keep for another dozen movies (besides Reynolds, of course) is Alexandra Shipp. What little she got to do in XMA was so spot-on that I felt like we had never really seen Storm on film before.

Umm they are both light skinned women. Even moreso than Kat so....
They are also very short too.

Anyway again if they cast a darker skinned black actress which I don't care one way or the other I'd go with Yaya DeCosta she has the deep rich commanding voice, those cheek bones, the royal poise and the height.

Storm is an American citizen who was trapped in a foreign country why does she "need" to be African at all. Also Thandie and Carmen are much too old for a reboot. They also look nothing like the character. Whomever plays Ororo needs cat-like features and more sturdy look about them much like my dream pick Angela Bassett.

I think if they're open to colour blind casting then Trevor Jackson would make a great Cyclops, he's making a huge name for himself too with his TV projects and it probably won't be long until he transitions to mainstream film.

If the were open to Asian actors someone like Manny Jacinto would be good too.

She isn't from Africa in the comics though... She's African American in the comics. Her parents came to Africa with her where Ororo was then orphaned.

But yes Kat would be awesome. She has the strength

And the warmth.

She really would be great. She even has her widow's peak.

I would have liked Kelsey to do a narration for Dark Phoenix and to see him again in the future setting reflecting back on his theory of time as a river and how some things are meant to be, with his voice blending into the scene with Nick Hoult saying it in DoFP.
