Superman Returns Reeve wants to be in Superman

That is a HUGE lie ! They were gonna pay him 35 million dollars. He left because he didn't like the direction Schumacker was taking Batman. He wanted to the third one badly but only if it followed the lines of the original. He loves the character and says it's the coolest thing and he digs it alot. I actually have an interview he gave regarding Multiplicity where he talks about why he left. He almost returned to the role in 99/2000 but the scripts/directors they offered him were crap so he refused again.
It was NEVER a question of money but quality. Also it didn't go well with him that they axed his friend Tim Burton's Batman 3 plans.

It's not a huge lie because is was reported that in numerous aritcles, he was also quoted as saying that he did all he could with the character and wanted to move on.

I think there's nothing wrong with Reeve having a cameo in the film. It's like a way of showing respect to the greatest Superman ever. Lou Ferrigno cameod on Hulk, and there was nothing wrong with it.

Yeah ..but.., I thought that Christopher Reeve hated playing superman and was doing it only for the money

he wasn't very popular with the bodybuilding community because he once stated that bodybuilders only looks in the mirror and keeps admiring their bulging bicep all the time

You can't say something like that on bodybuilders
because it's a sacred sport.

It IS a huge lie when ppl report it's about money. You talk like articles are the gospel. I saw inumerous reports that Cavil was Superman. They also speculate like hell over lives and decisions of celebrities. For truth, I'll settle with Premiere's report of 35 million dollars, confirmed by Keaton and his interview about the whole thing. We were talking about returning for a cameo not playing the role, so it's irrelevant if he did say he did all he could with the role and wanted to move on (which doesn't mean he doesn't like the role or doesn't want to be in a movie).
In 1997 he went in to a talkshow (I think it was Conan Obrien) and Conan talked to him and asked him being the best and original Batman in the first and second movies (with this mention the audience cheered like crazy and he seemed really happy with that) what he thought of the third and fourth and he said he saw rushes of them at the movies and "nodded them off" and they talked about how Schumacker made the movies silly...
One thing you have to know (I know because I'm a huge die-hard fan of his for many years) is that he has great integrity and only does the things that he likes and are challenging. He couldn't care less if he's paying standard fee if he's doing characters and films that are challenging to him. The first one was challenging of course and in the second both him and Tim wanted to explore the duality of the characters...

I think you mean hilarious.

What I dont understand is if Warner Bros is not going to do justice to the DC comic universe then they need to just give up the rights to another studio like new line

one word...money.

Yep I agree, I think they know there making so much just on the cartoons and the toys that they say they dont care if a movie bombs ie catwoman, that makes me scared of what could happen with superman

He shouldn't have any more of a cameo than Stan The Man. He already has his recurring role in SV and a producer credit on the movie. He's just being greedy now.

As for Keaton, i read that he quit cos the script was crap and his character was 2D. He wanted to continue to explore the character in the way that the first 2 movies had done, but WB's attitude was basically "screw Bruce Wayne, we just need someone to fill out the Bat-suit."

can you believed that a lot of people had to go to court because they didn't get paid for their work on the first batman movie , and Mr. great "JACK NICHOLSON" not only got paid but he was to received a great %profit of the movie as well not that I blame him ,(the man know how to do business and I applaud him for that)

Actually Jack Nicholson's only paycheck was the % profit of what the movie makes.

He didn't get a regular paycheck at all for the movie.

Maybe he changed his mind over the years.
Believe me when I tell you that Reeve didn't like playing supes and was doing it for money or perhaps "for the kids".

is that a fact now...?

I don't think you can even compare Keaton to Reeves. Reeves IS the character to millions of fans. Keaton was in ONE movie and I think he was a poor choice to begin with. He will probably be a producer. If they did pay homage to Smallville Dr Swann could be in it but now that doesn't seem likely at all.

I read that in the Guinness book of world records, so I think it is. :)

Um, he was in 2. And he was pretty damn good.

Make that TWO movies!

Its a shame. It sounded like Chris was really eager to be part of this. I'm sure Bryan would have allowed it and felt honored to have him.

not even hes wife was able to see the movie.
