Wow, I just saw a couple of gameplay movies at Gamespot. Holy Jesus, talk about suckass A.I. Hey Lizzy, just try watching Gameplay Movie 7 in which every Chimera you encounter simply runs at you with guns blazing (which is about 4 times, at least). And here you were talking about Gears of War having "mindless brutes".

Some of the later gameplay videos haven't impressed me as much as the earlier ones. Earlier I thought Resistance looked a bit special, but now it's starting to look like a run of the mill shooter, albeit a good quality one.

Just less exciting.

I shan't be ****ing the game any more, but don't worry, I won't be hating it either. I adopt a policy of relative indifference.

Oh yeah A.I. really sucks :rollseyes: then explain to me why the Chimera take cover behind stuff, explain to me why they can adapt to the players movements? How you may ask?

My friend scored a couple of tickets and got to go play Resistance: Fall of Man at TGS, lucky bastard and came back and told me all about it. He said that when he played the demo is was insanley hard, he would come down these stairs and the Chimera would just flank him and totally kill him. SO on like the sixth try he used the Auger *the one that can shoot through walls* and he started firing it down the stairs, he then saw the Chimera run under the stairs and he began firing through the stairs to get the Chimera, the Chimera hybrid adapted to his play style and used his brilliant tactic against him by shooting up through the stairs at him!

Or when the Hybrids work together and try and flank you by having three stay in the center shooting you and then telling two of the others to go left and right while your focus is on them and flank the player.

Or what about the Chimera targeting greater threats than you, lets say you suck at the game really badly and the A.I. puts up a better fight, the Chimera target the greater threat and not just you like most games do i.e. Halo.

Or what about the Widowmaker that is able to move around the enviornments and not get stuck on a lot of the objects that most games have their big bad guys get stuck on like debris and poles.

SO really Fenrir you have nothing to go on, and turn the F**king page you and stop referring to a comment I made months ago that was an accident : You need new material my friend

I can agree with that, trust me they are just releasing the same old thing because they don't want people to see a lot of the game, trust me theres more to it than what we've seen

I didn't see them taking any cover in Gameplay Movie 7 here at Gamespot. Adopt to players' movements my ass. There are at least 4 instances in which the Chimera run straight at you with guns blazing. Just watch it. That's PROOF of suckass A.I. Whereas you have nothing except big words and empty claim that carry as much weight as a ****ing dust particle.

Forgive me if I don't buy your bull**** anymore. You've done it a number of times before, raved on and on about Resistance having "AWESOME A.I" and whatnot and that you'll shut up once TGS comes along and here we are - those are gameplay movies from TGS with the increasingly stupid Chimera. Like I said, PROOF - your meaningless patronizing pro-Resistance babble can do nothing to change that fact.

If you actually have been paying attention to the updates that I’ve been posting then you would actually have something really good to go off of instead of targeting *GAMEPLAY 7* Oh my god he kamikazes you, f**k that, Gears of War kamikazes you when you get close enough to them and they try and run and kill you, they sometimes don’t even know your approaching from the F**KING SIDE! Use some god damn peripheral vision, I shouldn’t be able to sneak under you without you hearing me or seeing me.

Here is the game play of the Widow Maker actually being able to make its way around the environment, you’ll see it stop and actually re-route itself around poles and cars and stuff. I think you’ll be pretty sad to see how awesome it is.

Him: “I really liked the group dynamic. You could see it at work where two-three Chimeras would stay in the middle of the room behind some cover where they just kept pumping bullets in your general direction. But while they were trying to keep your attention two armored Chimeras seemed to try to flank me from both the left and right which made my job really hard. They seem to really understand the environment and they even jumped down from 2nd floor buildings and they are really aggressive.”

Me: “How hard is the game?”

Him: “It seemed very hard though not insane. You have to be focused and you have to consider the weapons you need for each situation. For example, there was this stairs I was going down and confronting the enemies directly usually killed me so my tactics was to use the Auger through the stairs against them. Of course, the enemy was just as smart as well and started to do the same thing so I had to dodge burning bullets drilling up under my feet.”

Oh wait you want proof that my friend went to TGS?

Yeah, that Widowmaker doing something Half-Life 2 already did two years ago with the Striders is such a great example Resistance's A.I

Oh and just before the Widowmake segment Ted is fighting against the same smaller Chimera who, even after having cover right beside them, are simple strafing occassionally and firing at you in the open ground. Real smart. Thanks for posting that video link Liz, you helped me prove my point yet again now that I have TWO video links to show to everyone that the Chimera are a bunch of dumbasses who don't run for cover and instead strafe like enemies from the original Doom and run head-on at you firing their guns. And there are a number of other instances in that very same video where they do the same thing. Thanks, chump!

I said I want proof in the form of GAMEPLAY VIDEOS, not your gullible mad-for-Insomniac friends' trek to TGS. Because a gameplay video is an objective and tangible piece of evidence whereas for all I know your friends could very well be singing the same Resistance tune as you. And please, don't give me explainations about what your friends' gaming preferences are and whatnot. And so far, the gameplay videos you posted have exhibited ZERO of the "AMAZING A.I" you are your friend have been wetting your panties over. It's tiring to read through all your garbage already.

There are numerous times they take cover, numerous times they jump out of the way when the grenades are thrown or when you're shooting them, numerous of times they will do some cool things, read the reviews of people who actually played the game. I think you'll see what I see in the game if you do.

But dude I think I'll just wait until the game comes out to have this little debate with you because frankly I can't say anything and neither can you about the A.I until we play the game.

Show me one single instance in Gears of War in which the Locusts run at you like dumbasses the way Chimera do in Resistance. At least the Locust are smart enough to take cover. I haven't seen the Chimera do it yet.

Your brand of humor apparently involves gravely insulting someone and then saying you were kidding. I must always miss the "funny" part.

I don't trust many people to give me an objective analysis of the game. A gameplay video is the best and most accurate representation of a game in progress. And I don't pay much attention to previews because gaming journalists are often too lenient and too kind in previews.

There are numerous times they take cover, numerous times they jump out of the way when the grenades are thrown or when you're shooting them, numerous of times they will do some cool things, read the reviews of people who actually played the game. I think you'll see what I see in the game if you do.

So far, none of the videos I have seen has them doing ANY of the above tactics. The two-legged Chimera either:

a)stand and shoot
b)shoot while running head-on towards you
c)strafe and shoot

That's all I've seen of them in gameplay videos.

No, if a game's A.I is impressive enough, it is readily apparent even in the gameplay videos. Just look at Bioshock.

Dude Fenrir the only reason why I do that is because you constantly rag on my game so I point out the flaws that you miss in your games. Watch the 1up video where Marcus runs up to the guy and they will run by cover, open your eyes and you'll see it.

You don't think that Resistance takes cover during gameplay there are numerous of trailers that show it, like that one that I made everyone download for like two hours only to see a little bit of Resistance.

Personally I think you just bird walk your way around it, I answer your stupid questions and you get pissed and put up another argument, i've told you and told you numerous of times what Resistance does and you do the same stupid thing.
