Thanks for the props about the thread. We need this. Also, Im surprised on how much we agree on a lot of the same retcons. Theres gotta be tons out there who agree about the same retcons, yet the artists and writers will never go back to fix them.

Yeah that wasn't cool. I remember the guy writer who loved Nightcrawler and was asked "Tell us something about Nightcrawler that we don't know." And he said that Nightcrawler has two of "ya'know (points to crotch and laughs)"...he smiled like "Yeaahhhh, I'm cool. Made that one up on the spot!"

I just remember catching the look on my face like "Yeah, shut up you're weird." He was so proud of that random fact. Luckily, many people don't know about that one. Mostly just the Nightcraler fans.

I dont see this one as a big deal as she is being written exactly how she was before them. Its just a technicality and at least her powers werent permanetly altered like some of his other horsemen. If I had to pick a Polaris retcon, it would be Austen/Milligan's entire run. Yeah it was all one big mess.

Word. The real problem is that we haven't had any good explanation as to what exactly it is doing. If it is Celestial tech like the stuff Magneto and the High Evolutionary stole from the Dreaming Celestial as Yost hinted that it might be it is quite possible it could be reactivating her x-gene in which case I wouldn't have a problem with it long term. But, if it is just a machine replicating her powers like Magneto's current super suit then I would view it as something short term to keep the character in the game that will need eventual fixing.

No. Chuck Austen said it in an X-men 2 featurette.

Austen at the time was the writer of Uncanny while Morrison was doing New X-men, then I think Austen did X-men and Claremont went back on Uncanny for a while.

Austen also did the movie Nightcrawler tie-in book for X2, which I don't think even acknowledges that Nightcrawler said he was at the Boston church before being in the white house.

Austen was basically a dirty pervert and had a thing for turning all his female characters into sadistic, psychotic, dirty ****s. Specifically Polaris.

Deadpool- Most of what Christopher Priest wrote. I love that guy's writing but I feel he botched it with Wade and the whole "trauma memory"/Mercedes thing.

Wolverine- I'm in the minority hre and it screws up Origins but . . . I never liked the built-in claws. I always saw them as artificial constructs and, after Magneto pulled them out, his healing factor replaced them with the best substitute he had (bone enamel.)

Colossus- He's a little young to have been farming on a Soviet collective as a teen, no? It seems they're dropping the collective and just keeping him a farmer, though. A lot of fan-fiction is borrowing the Brighton Beach troika thing from Ultimate. It's neat but I like the farmer Petey. The jealous, OOC , for-the-sake-of-book-dynamic beating that he gave Wisdom in Excalibur can just go.

Rogue losing Ms. Marvel's powers. ever since then she's lost her interest.

Cyclops going through all the crap with Jean and Emma. I like Emma, but she still doesn't belong with Scott.

Jean becoming that White Crown of the Phoenix. "I am Phoenix and I am Jean" blah blah blah. I just want 'Marvel Girl' back!

Beast ever becoming a cat.

Wolverine being able to regenerate from a skeleton. That's just stupid.

When Jean comes back (we all know it's coming), they should finally just let them (Logan and Jean) get together. Scott and Emma deserve each other.

And I might be alone in this, but I think Wolverine's character's gone downhill ever since he got all his memories back.

Logan and Jean will never be an item. The entire basis for them is the fact that they were forbidden, mainly bc she was attached to Scott. Without him in the picture, really they have nothing going for them. Besides, Wolverine is more marketable for Marvel as a single hero than to tie him down to some love interest.

This is the only thing I like about Wolverine. Far too often, my fav male characters go through a period of turmoil over some chick. My boy Colossus is damn near depressed b/c his woman is trapped on a missile somewhere. I'm glad Logan roams free and does what he wants!

i think its funny that ever sdince her name was given, EVERYONE uses that now. as if they didnt spend years calling her rogue! its as if those decades (in our time) hadnt happened and she's always been known as Anna Marie!
