Comics Retcon one thing about your favorite character

i did. because them together is boring. they MUST have dynamic tension. Jean CANNOT pine for Logan while she is with Scott....why, she'd be a ****e....Scott only mind-fu**ed emma...so it doesn't count...and he thought it was Jean..i think..i dunno...the cycle must continue...love triangle, they finally get together, they are boring and bored with each other, one of them dies(usually jean..Scott once) and/or they break up, the cycle then starts anew

Nightcrawler's father wouldn't be Draco. It'd have all been a ploy set up by Mystique to test her son's strength for something else she has planned for him in the future.

And I might be alone in this, but I think Wolverine's character's gone downhill ever since he got all his memories back.

i agree with that. they wayyy too many royalties with origins. they told you way too much and they pretty much told you that it was canon. meaning less of your imagination doing the work, less mystery. his name is james howlett (lame,) he's ONLY about 200-300 years old (meaning he wasnt in any adventures since before the 1800s/ age is not a mystery,) and his past is way too outlined .

i also gotta go with what someone said about beast's astonish design. reminds me of the lion from oz.

except that mystique could give a flip about kurt. i like that he is a demon

Character: Gambit

Retcon: Rogue.

:applaud

I'd also retcon the horseman of dead and change his involvement in the mutant massacre. I'd make him fully aware of what he was doing when he lead the Marauders in the Morlock tunnels.

Psylocke ever magically swapping telepathy for Jean's telekinesis. I don't care what you were planning, you should have explained that right off the bat, Claremont.

That's exactly what I came on here to post! Ugh. Honestly, I wish everything about Psylocke post 2000 could be retconned.

And this isn't really a character, but everything about Milligan's run, half of Austen's, and the entirety of X-Treme X-Men I wish would never have existed.

Dark, dark days those were.

wha?! X-treme X-men's start was awesome!!! :(

It all started going downhill when they unceremoniously booted Salva so Bill Jemas can have him work on his Submariner because of the impending movie, which last time I checked...NEVER HAPPENED!!! :cmad: LOL

Enter Igor Kordey...dun dun dun... *ugh*

the only good thing about X-treme was Larroca's art

^unfortunately thats taken a turn for the worst.

It was horrible in X-men, but I think its gotten better. I loved his recent Ultimate X-men work

From what I've gleamed from his work on the new Iron Man title, he's gotten better again as well.

I think he started to suck bc Marvel was burning him out. I dont know how the guy was able to draw an ongoing monthly with little to no fill in artists while also drawing mini series and one shots. He was doing too much at one time and the quality of his art suffered. It didnt help that he started to experiment with his art style, which didnt have the best results

Any magic thing, except Illyana who's mutant power is related to/works like magic should be retconed.

I'm not reading Harry Potter, I'm reading X-Men, let magic stuff stay where it belongs.

Bobby Drake was never an accountant. He was something cool. Like a professional snowboarder.

yeah just look at what Marvel did with Gambit when it came to Rogue. Can you imagine them making Wolverine the same way?

they did once and it was horrible. in a two part episode on the xmen animated series, they did a what if that had wolverine and storm together. he was majorly p-whipped. he kept saying "sorry darling" with his tail between his legs

Not really a retcon and not even my favorite character, but I digress...

I hope Bobby would "come out" already... :p

jeez i hated that episode. it has time travel, Bishop, and Wolverine dating Storm- 3 things i hate to see in X-Men.

I thought Clarement's X-treme X-men was a nice counter to Grant Morrison's New X-men, which in a perfect world should have been the purpose of Casey's Uncanny. Casey was in his own world the whole time, with Poptopia, and that lame Britney rip off and that Mr. Clean character :hehe: etc...there were rumors that it was drugs

The X-treme team was in the right in suspecting the home New team, especially with what was happening the whole time with Cassandra Nova et al. And I also liked the guest appearances by Jean, Nightcrawler, Logan and Beast. Say what you must about Claremont's verbose writing (wait actually...don't LOL) but he knows how to use those 4 characters!

Oh and Storm and Wolverine were very annoying in that X-men Animated episode...

IA on the Jean issues. I loved them obviously bc she is my favorite character. X-treme wasnt horrible....definetly was better than any of his other post 2000 X-men stuff. I had my issues with it though, like how quickly the Destiny diary plot was abruptly ended, Rogue being able to use any ability she ever gained, death of Psylocke, etc....

Another person here who didnt like Storm/Wolverine in love in TAS episode. What were they thinking

jeez i hated that episode. it has time travel, Bishop, and Wolverine dating Storm- 3 things i hate to see in X-Men.

"logan im making you an option, when you are making me your everything"

"thats right darlin..id do anything for you"

thats pretty much how it went down in that episode. what was cool about it though was i think one of the rare kid shows to really reference racism on syndicated tv. despite the crazy hair and offendable clothes, the bar owner didn't like that wolverine was with storm.

:o newbie doesnt know what retcon is..I've been a "closet geek" for too long

i can't believe Claremont tried to make that happen in Uncanny. thank God she married T'Challa i say!

I'd much prefer her with Wolverine or Nightcrawler, than T'Challa, if their relationship is not going to be written correctly ing the main title it's a premiere focus in.

IIRC Nu Marvel (as fans dubbed them then) made up their own term that supposedly put a positive spin on the word retcon...can't remember what it was exactly (what's new right... :p )

Grant Morrison was one of its great proponents...or offenders :woot:
