The Amazing Spider-Man Rhys Ifans Cast as The Lizard

Yeah, I prefer my Lizard with pants on, thank you very much.

Even if his junk is retractable like a real lizard, that's info I just don't care to know.

OK, all you lazy people. Google search "3 images du Lézard" and you'll be amazed what you can find.

Cool Lizard pics. Looks like he's going to have the snout. I read somewhere he was going to have the original Ditko look.

So did I and I was worried at first. But he has a snout and looks badass.

Thinking more about it now, I kinda like that they chose Lizard as the first villain.

Because he's a green monster that results out of a scientist injecting himself with an unproven formula.

Do you think they'd repeat the same bit with Goblin? I think they know better and would stray a bit from the Ultimate route and perhaps give us the masked one... Here's to some hope.

Honestly, I wouldn't even mind the Ultimate route so much, as long as he stays small and skinny, uses weapons and can transform back and forth at will.

It still would stray a bit from the point of having a mask.

It's all about the mystery of the persona. Having him transform back and forth at will, deletes the chance of having the hero forcefully take the mask away from him and find out who he is...

That can still happen. Knock the **** out of him till he collapses and he slowly reverts back.

How the hell would the hero know that would work in the first place? That there seems more like a convenient plot point than something that would feel natural...

It's not that he would know it. Just imagine a hard, drawn out battle and the Goblin happens to get buried under rubble. Spidey looks for him and instead of the Goblin, he would suddenly find Norman beneath the rubble.

Oh no.....*Flashing back to 2000*

1. Because spiders spin webs from spinnerets on their abdomens. Spidey shoots webs at high speeds from his wrists, not very much like a real spider.

2. Because the comics (as of the year 2000) had only ever shown Spidey with mech webshooters. Tradition!

3. Mech webshooters showcase Peter's true scientific genius.

That was the basic pro-mech argument in a nutshell a decade ago.

I recall and to this day, I still don't care. I thought the scene on the rooftop, the "Go web" scene more than justified it for a movie. :oldrazz:

If it was a show, I'd want mechs, but a movie is so finite (and they did use the "no web fluid" moment twice in SM2, and more than once in a series would be lame), it was never a deal breaker for me.

I loved that scene! I also agree on the second part.

Watching G4 right now and Chris Gore just interviewed Ifans about it and he responded, "I'm a guy who eventually turns into a lizard, what else do you need to know?" Then he got all in Gore's face and flicked his tongue at him, and Gore flinched almost immediately. Hilarity.

They know that fans want the classic Goblin, it'd be a little strange to have the death of Gwen with the Ultimate Goblin.

The best part of a comic book movie is that you can take the best (and most suitable) bits from the character's mythology.

it looks alright, going till wait till better images

just hopefully the inclusion of the lizard means that goblin will still be a guy in a suit, if the go ultimate route it will be retreading what happens here and just moronic
