The Dark Knight Rises Riddle Me This: The Riddler Characterization Thread

Yea I see what you are saying. But Nolan adapts these characters, who says he wouldn't adapt Riddler? Who would of thought Dent would get half his face burnt off with fire and that the Joker was responsible?

I get what you're saying about Two-Face. Sure Nolan changed how he became that way, but who Two-Face is as a character was still the same. Nolan kept the general concept with all of the villains even if he changed a few things so that the villains could interact to make the story fit, so I don't see why he wouldn't do the same with The Riddler. You see that Nolan even went as far as using parts of the 1966 show for The Joker, so I believe that Nolan will use all of his resources, and there is plenty, for The Riddler...

what part of the 1966 show did he use for the joker?

aww when did he do that? was that the episode were he was on tv as an actual clown?

Romero Joker is impersonating Pagliaci the clown from the Opera. the mask he wears is nearly identical to the mask from the bank rob

Well in my story
Special Agent Nashton is Investigating the crimes done in Dark Knight
While there He interviews the Joker
though a speach I wont go into untill my story is done
The riddler wants to know more and more about Batman

with under funds by the government and pressure from his bosses
He turns to Warren White for help after hearing about a case his buddie in the FBI did.

with Warren White financier for Nashton he now controls the game and does what ever he can no matter how wrong or damaging it will be

In my story he is part of the DDS and believes Batman is organising a terrorist group when gangs like the Jokerz and the mutants start attacking mob businesses and all of Gotham and people believe Batman is involved.

i was wonderin you know how Joker had his catchphrases like "why so serious?" and "lets put a smile on that face" scarecrow had "would you like to see my mask?" and "there's nothing to fear but fear itself" so what would Riddler's be "riddle me this riddle me that"? but what else?

How about........"I wanna ask some questions." or something like that. If they go the Fed route that is.

or like while he's interrogating a suspect he bombards them with questions that make no sense so they're confused and will tell him everything and then says "I have the answer" and then bombards them with his answer.

I like the dark grungy Jigsaw approach to the Riddler, you just need to change it around a little. The Riddler is a guy that if your not careful, you can go Joel Shumaker real quick. Nolan isn't going to let that happen. He needs to be a real threat, not a serial killer, you can't go the crazy route again after the Joker.

Johny Depp for the Riddler.

Ad while we're on the subject Philip Seymour Hoffman for the Penguin!

The Penguin should be the real head of the Falconi crime family and Maroni was just his face, he doesn't like to come out in public.:indy:

Yeah I'd say PSH for penguin Bob Hoskins is too gruff for it I can't see him playing a gentleman.

well isn't riddler crazy. But I would love if they got int the obsessive compulsive aspect with Riddler like he has to have everything in the right place and has to come in a building a right way stuff like that and having to leave riddles at his crimes.

Nice idea. Think about Leo DiCaprio playing Howard Hughes, waiting for the door to open, wincing at the stolen peas, and blend that with a genious private eye or criminal.

that would be so cool, like he kills an informant and keeps washing his hands or something.

^now thats scary lol
though with riddler it'd be "i'm with the government.... and I have some questions"

Riddle me this:

What's short and gray and ruins Stars Wars and Indiana Jones?

If the riddler was an FBI agent he could be investigating all the banks robbed and the Joker burning his money oooor if he was an ATF agent he could be investigating all the destruction in Gotham overall the riddler should be involved with the government investigating batman

^ I can't believe I'm about to say this, but that video was really, really well done.
The actually used more than two movies as his template! I always thought that a "Secret Window" Johnny Depp could make the actor an accceptable choice (even if he does come off as something of a sleepy Heath-Joker in this one) I'd love to see this guy try the same thing with a Ed Norton or Casey Affleck Riddler and a dash of a Timothy spall Mad Hatter as well. Excellent work whoever you are.

I got your mind twisted
Unrealistic wavelength draining on your brain-strip inflicted
Crosswords puzzling your delf
Questioning your own mental health (yeah) it's like a maze within itself
(yeah) Check the grimey, slimey, slimey
Crim-inim-inal indivi-dual I be
Searching for the Dark Knight
Lurking in the shadows of the city (the city) he roll with jiggy
My crime committee, robbing every Gotham piggy bank blinnnnnnnd
Take a journey through the mind of a Riddler
