Nah. Dafoe's character is a new addition named Professor Albin Eberhart Von Franz. But like Bulwer in the previous Nosferatu iterations, he's the Van Helsing analogue, but as Eggers notes in the EW article, Von Franz is far more proactive and part of the plot in Eggers' script compared to Bulwer.

I heard Jared Leto was in consideration to play Count Orlok but would only do it if he could play the role silently with all of his dialogue presented on inter-title cards because he felt that was the only way to stay true to the original.
