Can somebody give me an estimate as to how old the characters are?

Well with filming officially starting in january... casting should begin pretty soon. Who would you want in the roles?

so far i'd really like....

Chloe Moretz: as Molly/Princess Powerful

Amanda Seyrfried: as Carolina Dean

Jenna Ushkowitz: as Nico/Sister Grim

Ben Barnes: Victor Mancha

Rumor Willis/Tina Majorino/ or Mae Whitman/ : as Gertrude Yorks/Arsenic

Garrett Hedlund or Ryan Hansen: as Chase Stein

and other then Percy DaggsIII circa 2-3 years ago, i'm not sure who'd be a good alex.

I feel like most of this cast would have been good if the film was made years ago, but I feel like they are pretty much all way too old to play the Runaways. with the exception of Chloe Moretz, almost all of the actors are in (at least) their mid 20s. Even Chloe would actually be too old to play a 10 year old.

well i can guarantee they wont cast teens in the roles... and most likely do actors who are early to mid 20s who can pass as late teens. This is due to child labor laws. it's very hard to have a group of underage people as a full cast in a movie.

I think abigail comes off far more mature of a person and actress to play molly she's also a lil too chubby imo. She'd do alright but she's not perfect. Id take elle fanning over her.

I don't know if this has been brought up before, but I'd like to see Abigail Breslin as Molly Hayes!

I think she would work better as Gertrude at this point.

Bah let them hate. Jennifer is the right age, has the look and has a sassy sarcastic personality that fits Gert to a T.

As for Allie Grant, I haven't seen her in anything but some of her pictures make her look like a mutated Chelsea Clinton.

I like it. I am not above saying I watch more than my share of Disney Channel and think she would actually be really good for the role.

meh i don't think nationalities need to be 100% perfect... nico just needs to look some what asian or have some clearly in her. i don't think it matters if the actress is japanese, chinese, or korean.....

that's like saying alex needs to be african-american... not of aborigine, egyptian, or not from zimbabwe decent... i know there's slight differences.. but i dont think we need to be that correct...

that'd also be like saying a british or canadian actor can't play molly, gerty, or chase.....
