I don't want Sandman to be there, simply becuz it should be Venom vs. Spidey: the symbiote vs. the original host. One final showdown in a climactic finish to the biggest movie of the year. When Venom gets Spidey down and is on the verge of killing him, thats when Harry shows up to help Pete.

But I think that Venom vs. Spidey should be the final battle.

i'm curious though, what DOES happen to sandman? This guy has enormous power and strength, I even heard he doesn't die in the film, please don't let him sit in some super holding cell...

Well I know what the Q&A said. But part of me doubts Sandman will not be there. Sandman will likely not die due to having a kid. But I was thinking form the trailers, we see plenty of black webbing and Peter being attacked by black webbing and crying over

But no Sand or signs of Sandman in the trailers. I think perhaps Spidey finds out Sandman was not the one who pulled the trigger on his uncle, even if he was an accomplise (so Pete's guilt is still there) but he doesn't care. I think Sandman could reveal the truth or the police correct it, but with the symbiote on he goes too far and kills or thinks he killed Sandman (the water in the sewer after the beating in the subway? maybe).

Because it would make more sense if it was just Spidey vs. Venom and then Harry comes in and has to choose sides. I think Sandman very well could be the role similar to say Schocker or Rhino in TAS in this.

sandman killing uncle ben flash back scene is a big scene in the movie, we will have to wait until the movie to see it.

i wouldn't be surprised at all if Sandman pulls a "Doc Ock" and helps Spider-Man fight Venom, only to be killed in the process . . . leaving Spidey alone to contend with GG2 and Venom . . . in which Harry will help Spidey with Venom, dying in the process, leaving Spidey alone to deal with Venom . . . which could make for a very, very nice climax.

Considering all we've heard about him being a man with a wife and child, who is only doing this for his little girl, and his teaser poster was him with his daughter, I believe there's every possibility he will redempt at the end.

He may not help Spider-Man, I think he'll surrender in some way, if what the Q&A said is true. Apparently his kid shows up at the end and convinces him to stop.

See this is what really intrigues me with the movie version of Sandman, I can't wait to see how this part of the film plays out. Like he's a criminal, he's apparently [BLACKOUT]killed uncle ben[/BLACKOUT], but he's doing this for his own child (Like robbing banks and whatnot). And I imagine, it will even be more of an impact after he gets his powers. And on the flipside of the coin we've got Peter being corrupted by the alien symbiote, who knows what lengths will Peter go to set the wrong things right?

Yes, but I don't see how it can do that when he hasn't even got it yet. In the trailer, in the Police station, he isn't dark haired emo Peter yet.

Also, the symbiote can't influence the Police. They must have some solid evidence to prove Marko is the real killer if they called the victim's family in to tell them that.

No, I reckon the only thing the symbiote will do is amplify Peter's anger into murderous feelings. Same way as he nearly kills Harry with that pumpkin bomb.
