Would the movie hold up if no Venom?

IMO, suck my nipples.

IMO, Venom's the most interesting because he shares all of spiderman's strengths, knows what he knows, doesn't just want to rob banks and typical villain crap, but wants to KILL SPIDERMAN, PERIOD, and oh I forgot to mention he is a ****ing ALIEN from outerspace.

IMO, Sky surfer guy and Sanbox man have nothing on that. We've seen Spidey go up against a goblin... yawn. Sandman's best stuff will have already been shown in the trailers so it'll have no impact at the movies. The least shown of course is venom so he'll be everyone's most fascinating foe since he's most mysterious.

IMO, it's in my opinion.

What, you're not going to buy me dinner first? :csad: :whatever: :o

Good for you. However, some of the reasons you mentioned for liking Venom are reasons why some people dislike him.

Harry has history. His character has been built up over the past couple of movies and it all comes to ahead in sm3. However, as the new goblin, he's actually brining something new to the table as opposed to being a rehash of Norman, one of which will be, amazing airial battles.
As for sandman, his character has been given an upgrade for this movie, his motivations and role are conflicting and somewhat profound. He'll provide good fights and awesome visuals. What we've seen of snadman are mere tidbits not everything in its entirety as you claim.
As for venom, he'll probably offer very little to this movie. Venom ascts as the culmination of Brock's anger and hatred manifested, which btw doesn't last long. He has the least impact of all the villains, he's a throw away character that was thrown in as a quick thrill to really get the fanboys going. Why do you think very little of him has been shown? Its obvious, they want to keep him under wraps but also because, there really is no point, his time in the movie is minuscule.

IMO, it's in my opinion.

If you say so...

No we'll eat afterwards. :hyper:

Those people don't know wtf they're talking about. But I must tolerate their opinion... bleh...

If I said what I truly thought about Harry's dull character in these movies, I'd get flamed so I'll say yeah there's something interesting about his revenge plot, but he's predictable since we've seen a crazy goblin before, Venom is new.

****. I'm tired of reading about Sandman being amazing for his visuals. Wow! he'll be like the mummy. Wow wowo. Anyway, Venom's Spiderman's most psychologically and physically threatennig enemy. He's his nemesis. Sandman's a dumb thug who can control dirt. **** him.

And please send me the movie through megaupload since you seem to have it. I didn't know venom's time in the move was minuscofwafea whatever.

If you say so...

that I do. What of it?

Minuscule.

It's common knowledge to those who've followed what's going on with this movie, that venom's screen time is limited.

I'm not a diehard spiderman fan. I know movies. I know Spiderman movies and the spiderman cartoon from the 90's.

The real question here is whether or not Venom is a bolt-on character that only serves Arid's desire to boost fanboy attention, or has Raimi modified the story to the point that Venom and the symbiote's inclusion actually makes this a better, more rounded story of temptation, revenge and redemption.

In short, the story is about two men paying for their past sins.

The Sandman becomes a nemesis for Peter upon the revelation of Ben's death while Harry targets Peter for vengence over the death of his father.

The parallel of these two arcs I think sets the foundation for the main story, how the characters first clash, battle, face their demons and ultimately choose a path of forgiveness and redemption, or revenge and vigilateism (is that even a word? lol) - along the same successful themes as Batman Begins.

Now the question is how much can you include the symbiote and venom to the point where the story is served to it's maximum without angering fans and short-changing a popular character like other comic book movies have done in the past (two-face & bane anyone?).

In my opinion the "Darkness within" theme adds an edgier and more appealing tone to the story and the presence of the symbiote makes peter's conflict with morality all the more volitile and unpredictable, making the character's journey and susequent triumph carry more weight than the story may have originally allowed.

Then the consistent theme of all the previous villains having to "pay for their sins" would then turn on Spiderman himself. Although Venom is a character with a great deal of history (and story lines) he was initially, and best serves a story, as Spiderman's Doppleganger. Venom is Spiderman's vicious side under the symbiote manifest. A side that he doesn't confront through soppy dream sequences or gallant speeches but instead physically and intensely in a fight for his life.

Peter's arc is complete when he comfronts the monster he allowed to be created through his own lust for revenge during his own journey towards redemption.

Tricky part is how much time do you give to Venom without distracting from this central dynamic and also without rushing the story itself and Brock's inclusion.

I think if done with just the right degree of balance, Venom's inclusion will ultimately serve the story in a very positive fashion.

I'm sure it could, Sam just isn't a big fan of the Venom character. Neither am I to be honest with you. But Sam also knows what the fans want, and knowing what's good for him...we'll get Venom on screen.

3 reasons why the movie would hold up without venom
1.the movie is highly antisipated without venom
2.sam isnt a huge fan of venom
3.He is only in a portion of the movie.
Now im a huge fan of venom but i dont think it would lose too many viewers if he wasnt in it

I undestand and I agree. But without Venom, the movie wouldn't be about the symbiote and the black Spidey, so there's a contradiction. When we say 'hold up with no Venom' we also saying 'hold up with no venom no symbiote no storyline', it would be basically about Sandman killing Ben Uncle and New Goblin. I'm sure if that should've been that way, Raimi and the crew would've done a great movie though.

D!
