Some in here have mentioned that there should be a BW movie; isn't it possible it would end up just like Electra?
I guess, if instead of writing a script they just smeared some **** on paper and told the cast to read itSome in here have mentioned that there should be a BW movie; isn't it possible it would end up just like Electra?
Why would TA2 become another phenomenon....?
TA1 works as a "phenomenon" because it's new. It's unique. First time the crossover has ever been attempted. But now, the novelty of that has worn off, and it's no longer going to be a big deal to see the characters crossover and join up again.
Avengers 2 will be a franchise film, not an "event."
I think Marvel is going to want TA2 in theaters fast to make more of this kind of money. I think the films in-between TA and TA2 are set. We'll see IM3 and Thor next year and CA2 in 2014. Assuming TA2 comes out in 2015, I'd imagine getting Thor out in summer 2016 (as it'll have been 2.5 years since Thor 2) will be the next one. That's also a good summer to introduce as one of the smaller August entries a SHIELD film of some sort. It doesn't have to be as big in scope as TA or a Thor movie and instead be made for probably around $100 million and be a spy-actioner starring ScarJo, Renner and Jackson.
Then, I imagine CA3 and another new character to get their own film in 2017 (possibly Hulk again or someone introduced freshly in TA2). Just my speculation on how that will play out.
I'm hoping/assuming that's exactly what the mystery movie in 2014 is.I think it's silly if Marvel just chooses to make strictly sequels before TA2(Like they have planned so far), instead of movies about new heroes that could be added to the roster.

I agree with that sentiment. Ant-man and Black Panther both definitely come to mind as well as Heroes For Hire and Doctor Strange. Captain Marvel would also do wonders for introducing the Kree, Ronan, the Skrulls, and eventually Ms. Marvel. If they're going cosmic with this stuff then we should definitely see a Captain Marvel movie or at least an appearance down the road.
Maybe Nova to introduce the Nova Corps. with an appearance from the Guardians of The Galaxy.

No, a movie that introduces a new hero for the TA2 roster. What, The Avengers 2?

Well...one movie could mean more than one character. *crossing fingers for Heroes for Hire*Let's hope so. It really should be more than one movie, though.

But seriously, overcrowding is a major risk with these movies. I don't think they should add more than 1 or 2 new Avengers per flick. I think in Cap 2, since we know Cap will still be working with SHIELD, they could introduce one or two SHIELD agents who are future Avengers (Danvers, please) and set up them becoming those Avengers in TA2. Then you add to that whoever the new recruit would be from the 2014 Mystery Movie, and you've got plenty of new blood, imo.
I think it's a false notion that women can't lead action movies unless they're in B-movies and wearing skimpy outfits--and BW's already halfway there on the latter anyway--but can I just point out The Hunger Games, Salt and even Kick-Ass for that matter?
I think we'll see The Avengers 2 before Marvel would make that film, but I don't see why having a Black Widow film in 2015/6 or even a SHIELD movie that splits the lead between her, Renner and Jackson would be an Elektra problem unless it's just an awful script. BW stole quite a few scenes in TA, so she has audience credibility already. Just a thought.
I think they should focus on using the success of Avengers to encourage people to give other, lesser known characters a try. "From the Studio That Brought You The Avengers" is a good sell right now.
Question: Did she ever actually use her "Widow's Bite" weapon? They showed it in the pre-battle montage, but I dont remember if she used it.
She did, twice against the aliens. They were used as close range almost like a tazer. It was blink and miss it sadly.
As others have already said; I just loved on how Whedon brought depth to what I had considered a one dimensional character based on her presentation in IM2.
He didn't need a whole lot of time, but he established her back story where it was enough to give you an idea as to how she was brought up, but in the same time, it left you wanting to find out more as well.
And as a previous article mentioned, I loved both the vulnerability and inner strength that Widow presented in this film where you got to see her at both her best and worst moments.
Oh and I appreciate the fact that Whedon didn't use BW as another LI for someone on the group and how she was presented as a group member with significance instead of just being there for the sake of being someone's love partner.
Props to Whedon indeed.
