Scream 5 should be Sydney's kid that she put up for adoption because it was Billy's kid.

"Whats your favorite scary movie?"
"Hm...I don't know...Texas Chainsaw Massacre?".
"What, no SAW?! U SUX".

The killer texts instead of calling.

So basically he'd be Roman Bridger part 2. Angry kid rejected by his birth mother.

For one? It's Sidney. Two, if she had a kid by Billy we wouldn't have time to know as Scream 2 took place relatively AFTER Scream 1. There was no time for her to have a magical baby and give it away. Let alone it not be mentioned in Scream 2.

Very easy and I'll tell you this as someone who as I said before hasn't watched any of the movies since their original releases. I could still remember Parker Posey's awesome performance as the actress that played Gail and the kick ass Cotton Weary opening. Which was easily the second best opening in the entire series.

That alone makes it superior to this one. Which was just pretty forgetable overall. Hell the opening to this new one was pathetic. For a series who's signature is memorable & engaging openings that was a poor showing. I understand these movies are satirical therefore metatextual but there is also such a thing as overkill and when it came to meta this movie falls in that dept. I get it you named a character Loomis once so you dare name another ANTHONY PERKINS ha ha ha. But then you had **** like giving the Roberts chick the last name of ROBERTS in the movie and most especially the lame beginning. It just reached face palming levels of obnoxiousness to me.

Her last name was Roberts because that was the maiden name of Sidney's Mom...Hence it was her last name....DUH.

Wow. I hit a nerve. It wasn't specifically stated about you only in this thread, but on the Hype in general it just happens. The one person who hated the film beyond all hatred, gets the magical theatre full of people with his same opinion.

Did you know that despite the box office numbers, that the Cinemascore for Scream 4 is a B-? That is has a 7.6 on IMDB? 78 percent of people who saw it on Rotten Tomatoes liked it? A- from Yahoo Movies! Users.

Funny that, considering if by YOU'RE movie experience you'd think it'd be doing worse there. S'all I'm saying
.

I never did say nor did I ever imply this though. I spoke on ONE crowd in a city full of extremely critical people and even pointed that out. The internet makes up just a fraction of general movie audiences so it's a moot point to even bring up these numbers to me.

All I said was that if other audiences across the country reacted the same way as the crowd at my matinee showing this afternoon then I wouldn't expect good word of mouth. Why not actually READ my post before you try to deconstruct it. It might help in the future s'all I'm saying.

Yeah. I didn't catch that in his post, Maureen's maiden name was said plenty of times in the original trilogy to be Maureen Roberts. It wasn't like they got Emma as Jill and just decided to have a laugh.

"What's Emma's last name?".
"Roberts".
"**** it, that'll do".

Thanks for the info guy but no thanks for that condescending tone. DO NOT assume that everybody who went to see this is as passionate about this series as you may be. I haven't seen Scream since 1996 and the third since it's release for christs sake. I've said this **** ad naseum yet it was conveniently ignored. Such a minute detail wouldn't really stick in my mind over a decade later.

Apparently they also must've had a blast with Anthony Anderson too, since Perkins name was Anthony Perkins, which was just a wink wink towards Psycho and not the fact that it was a cop played by Anthony Anderson.

As someone just said, her name wasn't Jill Roberts because she was played by Emma Roberts, it was because the family name as established in previous films is...ROBERTS.

Maureen Prescott's maiden name was Maureen Roberts.

Well if you have seen each one at least once thats at least 3 times you heard it. Plus in the 3rd one I think it's mentioned at least 5 times. Just saying. Most of the audiences probably knew the fact that Sid's mom's maiden name was Roberts.

This is how they came up with Emma Robert's character name:

"Hey, what rhymes with Kill"?
"Uh.....Bill?".
"No no, Billy was the killer in the first".
"Okay...fine".
"...Jill?".
"Yep!".
"Call Wes and Emma".

Kevin Williamson is truly a master of his craft. :awesome:

Rio also has an extra benefit of 3-D screenings too. So it's tickets cost more. This was just a weird weekend to release Scream 4, up against a 3-D Family Film.

:lmao: I watch HUNDREDS of movies every year and it's been over 10 since I watched the last movie in this franchise. A franchise that while I've enjoyed I've never been passionate about enough to revisit the movies past THAT first time; and you honestly expect me to remember something THAT trivial?!?

Wow!

Nice talking to you guys. I am now out of here.

Scream 4 would have probably preformed better in May or June.

Don't need to remember it offhand, just know what you're talking about before you assume it to be a fault of the film.

Loved it! You know, i dont go into a Scream movie expecting Shakespeare...i go in expecting to have fun and be entertained. Mission accomplished. :yay:

I liked this one alot. Didnt expect alot of thing though. Antony Anderson was funny and I think he made a reference to boyz in da hood but i'm not sure.

Jill just came outta nowhere with the killing stuff, I didnt expect her at all and it surprised me when that nerdy dude just killed kirby outta nowhere.I figured he was behind it though.I'm also pretty sure once they find out what jill has done she won't be a hero anymore.:o
