I think that was the time that Scream 2 and 3 were released in Late January/February might be wrong. Don't know why they didn't try that instead of the weekend before Easter up against a family movie.
Actually, Scream 2 was released in December, but yeah, Scream 3 was released in Febuary.

I hope it makes good on bank in the next coming weeks. I'll wait to see what it does after it's 3rd week to really determine where it stands in terms of BO success.

In order for it to make good on it's budget, movies have to make double that back.

Depends on how much other factors of the film cost asides from filming it. It was made for 40 million, so not sure if that 40 million counts towards the cast and promoting the movie. The cast of this film shouldn't be THAT expensive. They have names but none of them are major bankable stars.

DVD sales will help, right?

But who the hell wants to wait for Scre4m to arrive on DVD for 5cream to start pre-production?

It will make money, just not as much or at the rate ppl were expecting.

I want good special features for the Scre4m dvd, damn it!

Hmmm, one thing comes to mind involving box office. Remember pirhana? It did poorly at the box office, but it's getting a sequel. So.......who knows?

37 million is 2 million short of it's budget. It hasn't opened in Spain. The movie's opening next week are Reese Witherspoon's new movie and a Tyler Perry movie (that I actually haven't see much promotion for.), there are people who still want to see it next weekend.

There's a chance still it'll be at least a bit profitable.

And for those desperately wanting another sequel look no further than what Spider-Man Hero 12 just said. Pirannha didn't do **** at the box office, but Weinstien NEEDS franchises BADLY.

Piranha was also a 3-D movie though, so that might've helped it's chances. It had higher ticket prices. It was made for 23 million and made 83 million. :(

I'm convinced the WOM will cause this to go up like it did for the original Scream. Teens today don't care about Scream, so the WOM will have to sell it to them like Scream did to Christmas audiences in 1996. And I think the word of mouth will be excellent. At least I hope so.

I just don't want a Scream 5 if Bob does what I think he will do and force 3-D on the movie.

^^ I dobut that would happen, but still. 3D can still work for the film, even though I don't feel it's necessary at all. Lol, I'm trying to be optimistic about things.

I'm going to see it tomorrow when it's cheaper at the local theater. I am a poor college student. I know a lot of people will be going to see it tomorrow as well. There is still plenty of time for it to gain some cash.

Oh, I know. I want to be optimistic but for different reasons if that makes sense. Since this really is the perfect cap to seal off the Scream franchise. They covered horror films, horror sequels, trilogies, and horror remakes. We got extremely lucky if this is the end.

I heard the rewrites were due to the killers being spoiled? Is that true?

Who were the original killers?

I think anything said about the rewrites is pure fan speculation. I'm over the rewrites since the finished product is good. Williamson seems over the rewrites just put it in the past.

I actually totally forgot about the rewrites until a friend brought it to my attention after we watched it last night..

I want to know what Kevin thinks of the film. Has he even seen it yet? I want someone on Twitter to ask him if he liked Scream 4 and where he rates it among the series.

Whatever beef Kevin has with Bob, I'm sure he and Wes have always been tight.

Hell, if they went with my idea for a strong male lead in a 5th film they can even name him Kevin, and he's at odds with his father, Bob HA! It writes itself, doesn't it.

Kudos to whoever wrote the line "Don't **** with the original"

Ehren Kruger.

KIDDING. I really don't know lol.

Kudos to whoever wrote the line "Don't **** with the original"

"You forgot the most important rule about remakes...don't **** with the original."

I agree. That truly was a great line. :awesome:

I'll tell you what line felt like Kruger:
"F**k Bruce Willis". The reason why I think so is because he did something similar in Scream 3 with Jennifer shouting at Ghostface "You can't kill me, I'm the killer in Stab 3. I'M THE KILLER IN STAB 3!!!" right before she died.

Seems like a Kruger thing to do having a character say something corny like that before they die. Williamson did none of that with the kills in Scream 1 and 2.
