I don't see why they need to kill any of the 3; out of most recent horror movies, they're part of the few characters that you actually root for to live instead of waiting for them to die. They're likable and realistic. I'm not saying they need to stay alive in all the Scream movies forever, but they don't need to die.
Keeping the trio alive thus far is not only a huge crowd pleaser, but it's something no other horror franchise has ever done.
That's very true. However, in most horro films, main characters don'tt last past 4 films. Jamie Lee Curtis died in her 4th Halloween film. Though, I will say, Scream does bend the rules a bit.Keeping the trio alive thus far is not only a huge crowd pleaser, but it's something no other horror franchise has ever done.
When ppl watch Friday the 13th, they want to see Jason. Nightmare on Elm Stree? Freddy. Halloween? Michael Myers.
Scream? Sidney, Dewey, and Gale. People actually want to see the GOOD GUYS. And yes, everyone wants to see Ghostface, obviously. But this is one of those rare series in Horror where the GOOD GUYS are the main draw. It's brilliant.
