i was searching Khary Randolph, one of Wolverine and the X-Men's character designers and he said that he is working on season 2 due to the amount of hits it got on nicktoons.

here is the link to what he said:

just click into "blog" and scroll down

all i can say is YAY!!!!!!!!!

what do you think?

i just cant wait to see all their ideas for season 2

Most of us were aware that Season 2 was happening a while ago. There were official Toonzone announcements and everything, and that was before WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN debuted on NickToons and made ratings history on that station (and the reruns on Nick did very damn well, too).

But, more confirmation is nice. Yeah, it is in production now.

I'm curious if anyone has any updated ratings for the last few episodes that have aired on NickToons since the premiere.

I hope this bodes well for the new Iron Man show too.

Frankly, the new Iron Man show looks like a mess, a holdover from a bygone era. WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN has been far more impressive, flaws and all.

I'm willing to give Iron Man a chance at first though. It might surprise some people.

Many thought Spectacular looked bad at first too.

Well after seeing the first 2 episodes of the new Iron Man cartoon, I have to say that I'm torn on the show. I thought the first episode was less then impressive. On the flip side, I thought the 2nd episode was good.

i just saw ep 26 in spanish and it was really good!

if you want to know the ending:

The x-men defeat master mold and Emma frost is really working under-cover with the Hellfire club. The explosion at the start was Jean Grey turning into the Phoenix because Emma and the Cuckoos were putting mental attacks in hers and the Professors head. The x-men save Jean and the future has changed, but the new future is the Age of Apocalypse!(you see cyclops and mr.sinister in the official Age of Apocalypse costumes!)

YAY!

I saw the first episode of...Iron Man at New York Comic Con, and I thought it was terrible. At least IM will be featured in the Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes. I am much more excited for Marvel Superhero Squad, where all the heroes costumes are right out of the 60's-70's era that they were created. I am thoroughly enjoying Wolverine and The X-Men. While it is not better than Fox Kids X-Men, it is a huge improvement over X-Men Evolution.

i agree, nothing will beat the 90's series!

As more "Season 2 is happening" news, on his blog, artist Steven E. Gordon, longtime animation illustrator who was pretty much behind a lot of X-MEN EVOLUTION and ULTIMATE AVENGERS, as well as those STAN LEE PRESENTS DTV's a few years ago and countless others, notes on his blog that he has been busy doing "turnaround" character design work for WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN Season 2. So, production is full steam ahead.

Because I'm still pretty much a novice in animation terminology what does it mean for turnaround character design work?

Basically, character models need to be set up from various angles for the animation team overseas to be able to draw and animate each character from various storyboard angles. The head Character Design artist will come up with some of those angles, usually front/back and side to side, but there are other artists who do "turnarounds" in which they have to draw most of the key angles around a character design doing a 360 degree turn, or close to it. It often involves seeing a character design from angles even the head designer who made it may not have imagined and making it work in motion.

Virtually every character and even many objects or props may need to have turnaround work done with them. The idea is to provide the overseas animation studio which does the gruntwork of actually doing the animation as much detailed info about everything as possible so there are no flubs or major things to be fixed in editing.

At least that is my layman's approximation of what that entails based on things I have read and seen.

Right by turnaround it literally means TURNAROUND :D .

I guess that means they are making some new character designs and models.

I wonder why ;) .

That's Steven E. Gordon's blog, basically. He updates it semi-frequently. He's more specific than I but turnaround's are one aspect of what he does.

Hey, it's the X-Men. They always have new characters and villains coming in. Even "cameo" characters or background figures need this kind of work put into the production artwork if they are on camera for very long. Or costume changes and so forth.
