season 8?

they can make as many season they want. or they could make a date when to end it. that way they have control. would you rahter having them making episodes until they cna? then when the numbers are extreme low they will chancel it and end it in two episodes. then oyu have a bad ending. you can have control and devote a whole season to the ending and that way the series could be remembered as an series that told the story they had not like a series that was chanceled.

I think its important to have a plan. Which means to know from the getgo how many seasons you wanna make and which stories to tell. HOWEVER, if they can figure out a way to successfully continue then so be it. But...Smallville IS a different situation. We know this guy will have to turn into Superman sometime in his `20s. So, they really don't have much time left.

the problem is that i think they dont have a plan. why? well i am looking at the last two seasons. and i think they have this main story for one season but then they realese episodes that ahve nothing to do with the main story. than maybe at the end of those episodes they tease us for 30 seconds.

i think if they want they can make a season without episodes like vampires, ghosts, red kryptonite.

and i personal have a huge problem with lana. this lana thing is going nowhere. it was good to have lana as the love in the first seasons. but already backthen we knew that they wotn come together because of lois. but now they are IMO taking this to far. she wants to marry lex? fine. it is dumb but ok. but we have again clark crying for lana. and i think noone would survive if they come back together. if they dont than what are they doing?

Each year, they write two different season ending arcs for the show (one ends the season with a cliffhanger, the other ends the show permanently), the divergement of which happens around the final third of the season. By that time in production, they usually know if they're being picked up for another year. Last year was the first year things were up in the air because of the network mergers. G&M took a chance and they got lucky.

Given SV's steady ratings and the fact that it has a core audience who watch it no matter what, the likelihood it would ever get canceled mid-season ala CW's Runaway is slim to none. I think fans can rest assured they'll get a kick ass ending to the show. The showrunners have had six years to perfect the finale; it gets tweaked every year to fit in with the events unfolding in that season.

Bottom line: SV is CW's number one scripted skein. The showrunners are (apparently) already in S7 mode, and they haven't ruled out an eighth. Fans are just gonna have to wait for that kick ass finale. :p :D

i am a huge lost and prison break fan. but i am realistic. i think prison break should end after season 3. lost. 6 seasons? come on.

Actually the producers said that if they have their way they want to end Lost at season 5 & let Lost have 100 episodes. They dont want it going & going just based on its name & popularity ala the X-Files.

No, not specifically. Nobody does. Though Gough has already let the cat out of the bag on the show finale. The duel seasonal arc thing is common knowledge, however. They've been writing each season like that for quite a while - probably since the second season.

It is to bad they do not film those alternate endings. That would be great for the DVDs. But Tom would probably be just as annoyed at wearing the suit for one episode each season just as Michael is annoyed at shaving his head every day
