Sega to release HULK, THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA games.

In addition to Iron Man, which is coming out next May, Sega has let it be known that the Hulk, Thor and Cap are on their way to consoles.

Well the article states that the Hulk game will be based off of the new film, so i dont know what exactly the format will be. I dont care about the Thor game as iv never been a Thor fan. Im deff looking forward to the Cap and Iron-Man games tho.

not necesarily. It depends on the type of deal Sega has. Sega may either have the right to produce Thor, Iron Man, Captain America and Hulk games but that doesnt mean that other companies may not have the right to include the characters in their games. For example, Activision has been the company that has had the right to make Spiderman games for quite some time, but they dont exclusive rights to the character as he's appeared in games by other companies such as EA and Capcom

Sega made great arcade games in the 1980's. This could be their chance for a super comeback. Eventually if Sega can acquire Wasp, Yellowjacket, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, Vision and Scarlett Witch, maybe Sega can make an Avengers game that is truly exciting. Marvel Ultimate Alliance was great. However, I have been an Avengers fan since 1978 and outside of Captain America and the Avengers, Earth's Mightiest Heroes have been shortchanged in the video game industry.

If they would ever want to re create the excitement of Capcom vs Marvel perhaps Sega could make Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes vs The Ultimates. It would be a fan favorite whether you are a fan of the original EMH or the Ultimates.

Well if you are referring to Sonic, i feel hes long past his prime and has been wanting to die for the longest time. I dont know, until i hear more about what Sega is trying to do with the games, i cant really make any judgement. The one thing i do know is that im stoked that EA isnt going to be anywhere near my Iron-Man game.

Sega did make 2006's Full Auto, a great racing shooter. They are making a new Golden Axe and released a Japan only game Afterburner Climax which looked very good.
The Marvel deal gives Sega a chance to emerge like a Phoenix (ala Jean Grey) and reclaim their former glory as a game company. If Iron Man, Hulk, and the eventual Captain America, and Thor games sell well their reputation will be restored and maybe then They, not Activision will gain the right to make a game based on the down the road Avengers film.

When it comes to comic book licenses and movies, Sega has a very good track record. SPIDER MAN for Genesis was the first Marvel video game to get it right. Remember the photographs to get money for web fluid bit in the game? Now how many video games based on marvel can you name that shows some resembelence to the character's living? It was clever for its time and its still clever now.

CAPTAIN AMERICA andTHOR is the game i'm waiting for personally because they may not be based on any movies yet and i'd like to se a video game company having to use their imagination for once.

Even on a diffeent level Sega's STAR WARS ARCADE TRIGLOGY is still something to be beaten in gamplay and excitement. I'd wait and see before we all write this off.

B... but... Nights! that was an amazing 3D game!
Anyways, I agree... I can see a sudden surge of second rate beat'em ups coming our way. More so if these games are all to tie into films.
Say good bye to Hulk:UD formula.
