I don't wanna go either. We can skip together! :D

im taking about 6 days at the end of may. i cant wait for that

So aparently my campus was havin' a blood drive today that I had forgotten about. Luckily I figured it out and managed to squeeze on in :)

If you like chocolate flavored ice cream, mini marshmallows, & almonds, you'll probably love it.
The one thing I don't like is marshmallows
Oh well, sometimes food I don't like taste good with food I like

Well I did that stupid thing of taking advice from friends and asked the girl at work I like on a date. 40 minutes later she text back saying she just wants to be friends.

I have now made work hella akward...

sad to say you'll encounter this most anywhere you go. depriving yourself of the boards will result in your missing the comic discussions that aren't idiotic, and the few of us that are worth talking to.

and of course, you'll miss me. i mean who wouldn't? /vanity
I'm torn. I loves these board and I love the people, but it's so frustrating.

I'm still going to speak up about the sexism though, even if it is denied :whatever:.

i've finally finished season 3 of buffy

Good for you!

I actually don't weigh enough to give blood. :o It's actually kind of sad on my mom's part, because my mom is type O, the universal donor. But she will NEVER weigh enough to give blood.

My 200-lb coworker gives plasma every 2 weeks here at the hospital (the most often you can do it) because he always gets free stuff. :oldrazz:

just filter out the stupid stuff and focus on the parts you enjoy
That's what I do.

It's a fool's errand, Hawkingbird. :o Just comes with the subject matter here.

I'd have a serious problem with "hotness threads" on like, a professional science-related forum. But this is a male-dominated board about comic books and comic book movies. Eye-candy at its most basic. It's just inevitable, in my view.

The most important thing is that I'm respected for my opinions here, even if I'm a woman. And I am, so it's good.

Also, I have to add that on a woman/gay man-dominated forum I'm on, we have "Porny ____ of the Year" contests. So shoe's on the other foot. :oldrazz:

maybe i'll see lord of the rings one day

My recommendation, sit aside a whole day and watch the extended editions of the trilogy. They're each longer by 30-40 minutes I think, but the material included really helps explain some stuff that was glossed over in the theatrical versions, which confused some people coming out of the theatre. I won't even touch the theatrical versions anymore. Plus, all the new stuff is really good. Not that unnecessary crap that most movies put back in.

And if you're anything like my wife, she thought the first movie was alright, but not being a fantasy person in the slightest, it didn't really wow her. It wasn't until the second one that she really got into it.

I'm thinking of leaving the boards. The sexism on here is frustrating. It's not far-out sexism. It's the fact that the only discussion on women here is their looks.

You're not allowed. I would feel so lonely with my Bendis love :(

I've never felt ostracized as a poster here because I'm female, and have an obviously female username. Few people here know what I look like, but most know what I post like, and they respect me for it.

I don't know why, but I've casted you as the girl I stood next to in the Big Brother audition line a few years ago. I could be way off :)

ComicChick, I suggest you try the Howard's Conan and Moorcock's Elric stories before reading LOTR. They, along with Fritz Leiber's Fafrhd and Gray Mouser stories, are the real forerunners of the fantasy genre. Tolkien himself was a big fan of Conan.
