I wonder will mary jane's parents be seen at all and how will her backstory be altered from the comics-- dysfunctional family or relatively stable?
whoa, no need to be aggressive, english is not my mother tongue. she has a small role, then. there, fixed.
a brief appearance or voice part of a known person in a work of the performing arts, typically unnamed or appearing as him- or herself. These roles are generally small, many of them non-speaking ones, and are commonly either appearances in a work in which they hold some special significance (such as actors from an original movie appearing in its remake), or renowned people making uncredited appearances. Short appearances by celebrities, film directors, politicians, athletes or musicians are common. A crew member of the show or movie playing a minor role can be referred to as a cameo as well.
no worries, it's hard to tell tone in print, i apologize as well. and thanks for the definition, i'm glad it's a bigger role than just a cameo.I wasn't trying to be confrontational and apologize if it seemed like I was; there IS a difference, though, between a cameo and a 'limited role'.
This cool animation set was posted on Tumblr the other day with Shailene interspersed in some scenes from TASM w/ Gwen & Peter - nothing beats Peter & Gwen, but I have to say she looks pretty cute with him too

the shailene bashing can never stop!!!1 it must continue for the sake of the integrity of this movie!!!!11 we can't let them win with an ugly girl!!!111
^ Given the eclectic group of kids that my HS drama scene attracted, I wouldn't be surprised, although even if she wasn't a 'drama-girl' in HS she could still end up pursuing that type of education in college.
Congratulations....you are the most immature inconsiderate rude poster of the day. Please post your picture so that we can see what lovliness you give to the world as you pass through it.
Maybe C. Lee was being sarcastic too...

so will this be the earnest Mary Jane of the movies, or will this be the flighty, party-times girl of the early comics? That would be a welcome contrast to Gwen.
I've been lurking around this thread for a while but haven't posted because I didn't want to get embroiled in the whole "Shailene's ankles are too fat to portray Mary Jane" argument. Anyway, it seems to have died down. A bit.
I'm looking forward to seeing what she brings to the role. She has a really unique look and I find her fascinating to watch. I think that's why she'll make an awesome MJ. She just has "it".
Signing off with this. I love a girl in roller skates.
