Shane Black Directing Predator Sequel!

I love the predator creature and think hes one of the best creature designs in history but man each movie just gets more boring bland from the next.

Predator 1 still a great self contain story that delivered in all areas and started out as one story then turned into something else.

Predator 2 took the same story only put it in a dirty sweaty hot city. still good sequel but overall could have been better.

AVP was just a turd filled alien vs predator porn.

AVP:R was too dark video quality wise to give an honest review but from what I saw it was usa network quality.

Predators was just a less interesting remake of the original and really boring at parts.

Same with aliens it should just have stopped with the 1st and 2nd parts. these aren't franchises. Same with terminator.

Predator 2 was on TV the other night. The first half of the movie was very enjoyable. I felt like the second half of the movie was a little dull.

I noticed the Latino dad from Fear The Walking Dead was in the film.
Go Fast and Furious route. Bring back Arnold, Glover, and Brody to form a super team to take on Predator hot spots throughout the world.

I like that idea.

All three of them are pretty cheap to hire these days as well.

Another cool idea would be to set a Predator film in the Middle East. A bunch of merc military contractors encountering a Predator in a war torn Middle Eastern country could be entertaining.

Predator 2 is still my fav. Gang wars and Predator in LA. Awesome.

The only PG-13 rated one was the first AvP. Alien, like Predator, are inherently Rated R franchises. Period.

It'll be R for sure especially since Deadpool, Kingsman, and other movies proves that Rated R do move money.

Hopefully not a PG-13 Predator film.

A movie about an alien that hunts and kills people should be for mature audiences.

Lets hope so, dont want another Terminator Genysis situation *shudders*

I don't think it'll be a debate that it won't be PG-13 after Fox's success with Kingsman and Deadpool.

Yeah hopefully FOX will get the message, if anyone should it should be them lol.

Be interesting to see what setting they go for too.

How about this for a movie?

A Predator is killing unarmed civilians, including women and children, in modern day Miami. The police think that they have s psychotic serial killer on their hands and call in the FBI for help. It turns out that the Predator who's been killing unarmed civilians is considered a criminal among his own people, something of a poacher. So they send another Predator to stop him, like a game warden or a park ranger.

Does Dexter Morgan go after the Predator?

I'm actually writing a Criminal Minds/Predator crossover fan fiction story about that called "The Party Crasher". It's still a work in progress, but it is quite popular on fanfiction.net.
.

Predator cop! All new crime procedural only on Fox.

A FBI agent and Alien Predator star as unlikely partners hunting down a serial killer in Miami :funny:

If it bleeds they can arrest it!

I find it odd they used a picture of classic Predator from "Predators" in the announcement, but I guess that's all it is, is just to start the hype train.

R or PG-13, if the scenario is crap, the scenario is crap.
Wait & See.

If Prometheus and now Alien Covenent are Rated R so will this.

Was there anything ever confirmed that the Classic Pred in Predators was actually THE Predator from the first one?

I assume somewhere in between. Next year is the 30th anniversary of the first film. So I imagine if they intended to release it in 2017, filming would be begin soon.

If they film this summer at best they could have the film slotted for early August 2017. May/June/July 2017 is full of reboots and sequels and opening in April would be very tight and I think you would have to give this more time to make it right, even leave some time for reshoots.

Fox already has Alien: Covenant for October 2017 and Murder on the Orient Express for November 2017 plus November/December is already full of blockbusters like Thor 3, Justice League & Star Wars Episode VIII.

They could open December 1 but it would be buried under advertising for Justice League and Star Wars.

It would be a nice tie-in for the 30th anniversary but I think for it to succeed you slot it in MLK Weekend, (January 12, 2018) and market it as R rated film that's similar in spirt to Deadpool/Guardians of the Galaxy/Suicide Squad.

Nothing for adults is scheduled for that month so they could plant a flag for that weekend which has become successful over 4-days in launching American Sniper ($107M), Ride Along 1/2 ($48M/$41M), The Book of Eli ($38M), Cloverfield ($46M and adjusting for inflation it is at $55M). http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/weekends/mlk.htm?page=MLKOPEN&p=.htm

So hopefully August 2017 or January 2018 with April and August 2018 as backups.

I'd say that's a likely scenario. With them appearing to start moving on this now (The Nice Guys is done, apparently, so Black is free from that aside from promo). Predator script was handed in last Nov, greenlight has been given, if they move into pre-production soon they could start filming in August or September and release it Aug 2017.

So 'The Predator' is the title after all. Keeping tradition with the blunt titles of the franchise.
