Trevor Slatery is a Predator?
Well Shane Black did do Iron Man Three...
Trevor Slatery is a Predator?
If Predators are a race of people that live for the thrill of the hunt then how did they build a civilisation advanced enough for space travel?
What about the Predator home world? What about their every day life? Do they have architects that are in it for the thrill of the build? Road sweepers that are in it for the thrill of the sweep? Lawyers that are in it for the thrill of the conviction?
Couldn't they have come up with a better name than "The Predator"?

What would you suggest?
... and for the love of God, please don't suggest subtitle crap like ''Annihilation'' or ''Resurgence''.
I wouldn't take it too seriously, it's just a teaser thing. I think they only got a greenlight last week.

How about this for a movie?
A Predator is killing unarmed civilians, including women and children, in modern day Miami. The police think that they have s psychotic serial killer on their hands and call in the FBI for help. It turns out that the Predator who's been killing unarmed civilians is considered a criminal among his own people, something of a poacher. So they send another Predator to stop him, like a game warden or a park ranger.
They've actually started filming this? Or is it a "we're still going to make this soon" announcement poster?
Go Fast and Furious route. Bring back Arnold, Glover, and Brody to form a super team to take on Predator hot spots throughout the world. The only chick in the group is the daughter of the scientist who discovered an algorithm that tracks where the Predators will show up. He is killed, giving her motivation to work with the team.
Oh, and add fast cars.
It's true, you know. That's why less is more with characters like the Yautja.
This is the most underrated post in this thread.
Maybe not beat a Predator, but his skull would come at a pretty hefty price for the Predator.
I'm not against Arnold coming back as Dutch in a sequel. I'd put him in a supporting role though, like maybe as an advisor to the team assigned to track down and capture the Predator.
Personally I'd like to see a new Predator film where Dutch has been living alone somewhere secluded since his encounter with the Predator. He's been debriefed by the military and the government a thousand times, but he's never quite come to terms with losing his team - the only thing he really cared about - or with the creature that did it. His silence and state of shock at the end of the first film was an indicator of this. As such, he's never had a family or settled into any kind of lazy, comfortable routine. He simply lives and breathes, keeping himself in shape by working outdoors but mostly having an empty life, still dealing mentally with the traumatic events that took place and the realisation that not only is there other life out there beyond earth, but it's deadly. He's an old school army guy who keeps himself to himself and doesn't talk about what's going on in his head. He suffers flashbacks and has a recurring dream of hanging upside down in the darkness while a Predator's face slowly closes in on him.
Then some suits turn up on his door and tell him they need him. There's been a report of bodies found strung up, their spinal columns torn out. Strange radiation readings in the area. It all fits with the events that happened to him in 1987. And though his first instinct is to stay away from this situation and keep living his solitary existence, he sees a chance to finally get answers and make some sense of things.
I want to see a Predator film where there is a lead character we actually care about, and learn about. Predator 1 had that, Predator 2 had it too to some extent (in the form of Danny Glover), but after that we got a succession of empty characters and filler in the AvsP films ............. and it's hard to care about any of the characters when you have no attachment to them.
