But that would be an awesome film.
If you want to dumb it down that simplistically, then yes. But it also shows how quickly that formula staled when they didn't do a Predator 3 and did a quasi-sequel almost 20 years later that also went to something other than Predator vs soldiers or cops (or samurai or vikings or ninjas or space soldiers or whatever). It was a more diverse group of people. Some were soldiers, some were convicts, others were something else. And it still was barely a success. The first Predator is Predator Vs Soldiers. The second one is Predator Vs Cops. When we say Predator Vs Vikings, Samurai, etc, it obviously means that we want to see the Predator in a setting where he's hunting them and they are fighting for survival.
Yes because Predator franchise is at Fox along with Alien. Batman is the property of WB.
That was rhetorical wishful thinking. As a card carrying nerd, I'm fully aware of who holds the rights to those franchises. Only Fox could be responsible for such atrocities like AVP And AVP2.
Doh! my bad.Hey you never know some might have thought that mashup was possible. But like I said that would be a great film if it ever did happen.
AVP failed miserably in the box office because it fails as a film. The characters were walking cardboards, the story was a wet rag, the visuals were rungs lower than Predator 1 and 2. AVP2 was just an abomination on celluloid.
Predator vs other warriors from different eras will be a fresh concept as long as it's executed well. The differences in warrior codes, weapons, environments and how the Predator adapts to it is a promising concept. If it's treated as a "let's plug in a Predator against these guys for sh*** and giggles" then it will surely be horrible.
With all that said, I just want a live action Batman vs Predator. Is that too much to ask from the world?

So nope, doing the same thing again like that isn't going to cut it.
For a while, there has not been much reports about who has been looked at to lead this new film. The likes of Batman alumni have apparently been considered, with Ben Affleck having been Blacks top choice, and back ups included Christian Bale and Tom Hardy. This does not seem only like a trend with Batman actors, but also Hollywood A-List action movie stars. But according to a new *rumor* from Jeff Sneider via Meet the Movie Press, the agency CAA is pushing for actor James Franco to star in the upcoming film. According to this rumor, hes pretty high on the list.
The thing wont shoot until October, so Hostiles will be well and truly wrapped by then. Most of these big names average 12 weeks on a big film. Mind you, generally when casting announcements are made, the deals had been in place for ages, so for all we know whoever it is has already been signed.
