For MCU introductory solo films it’s probably only behind Iron Man and Black Panther for me. If we look at solo sequels too then TWS and Ragnarok would also jump ahead. Great start to this franchise though.I agree with whoever wrote that this was one of the better solo Marvel projects. I really loved it. In particular the movie felt more authentic with all the Chinese dialog. Visually, I think my favorite scene has to be the meet cute fight between Shung Chi mom and dad - that was breathtaking visuals and incredible fight choreography. The whole movie was Mulan meets Avatar - TLA meets Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon meets Marvel movie.
This movie is everything I wanted Mortal Kombat to have been, and everything I want the Netflix Avatar The Last Airbender series to be like. A perfect blend of fantasy and action.
I agree, especially if we don't count the first guardian movie with has an ensemble cast. Such a great movie, I can't wait to see it again. This was GREAT. I was wrong on nearly every front about this movie, I'd even go as far as to say it's the BEST MCU origin film
Yeah BW is just a smaller scale film, still good/enjoyable IMO. I love the family aspect to it. I like the shows too, including Falcon although the last episode let it down a bit and the villain was absolutely terrible. There are so many exciting upcoming films and shows too. Exciting times and it looks like the MCU will continue to go from strength to strength post Endgame. What's with all the Black Widow slander? I love that movie. Imho phase 4 has been great except for Falcon and the winter soldier. Marvel keeps getting better and Eternals and No way home looks like they will be great too.
This movie was my first in theaters since Rise of Skywalker. Went to a Dolby AMC theater with those nice leather recliners. Looked like my local AMC did some renovations during the pandemic because they certainly didn’t have that the last time I was there.
It was a smaller scale film until it decided it wanted to be a bigger scale film and had another generic third act with things falling from the sky.Yeah BW is just a smaller scale film, still good/enjoyable IMO. So....when is the quality of these movies going to dip like some keep claiming now that the Infinity Saga is over? Cause....it ain't starting with this one. This movie is awesome
This will be his sixth time watching this movie and everytime he watches it, his stance from the first time has not changed....he loves it.
Why are you so obsessed with this guy?
I mean. . . being fair, I'd say Black Widow was a bit of a quality dip? Of course, most franchises would *love* if they had dips "down" to the quality of Black Widow, since it was still a solid and entertaining movie. Just a bit mid-tier, and deflated by being a prequel for a deceased hero.
Well, as a result of this movie, future appearances in the MCU by Shang Chi will be met by an eruption of cheers in the theater.
It will be interesting to see the reactions of Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan in the Marvels since not everyone who watches the MCU watches WandaVision or will watch Ms. Marvel.
