You're right, Sharon might be the double agent. Many people think it's Nat after TWS bonded her with Cap with that do you trust me to save your life conversation and Cap saving her life, but I think Nat might end up betraying Cap.

She probably won't betray him; she'll probably be straightforward in her opposition since she seems to understand his motivations. Whatever the situation I think that dynamic will be given almost as much attention as the Cap/Stark conflict.

I think this is true also - especially given what the Russo's said about Nat's position when they broke down the trailer.

But I can totally see Sharon being the double agent for Cap and feeding him intel while Black Widow may be trying to help within the perimeters of the accords and Cap going against them only messes things up.

Either way, I think both Sharon and Nat are going to have some interesting parts to play.

Not a straight out, back stabbing betrayal, she might do something she believes is the best for Cap where Cap won't see it her way but a betrayal. She is the type of spy who uses shady tactics after all.

Also I do remember the Russos saying a slight white lie that the third movie not being Civil War so I wouldn't take their words at face value.

So it's interesting to note that in this scene where Sam and Steve seem to be laying low/incognito

Sharon is present because Emily was spotted filming there as well. So that does put more evidence in the "Sharon is a double agent helping Steve and Sam from the inside" column.

She could also be trying to convince them to turn themselves in.

It sure does. Connect the clothes.

Edit: Oh wait, Sam and Steve did turn themselves in in the above screen shot where they handed over their shield and Falcon suit.

From events in the trailer -- Steve & Sam being taken into custody with Sharon standing with their captors -- it's just as likely that she had a hand in engineering their arrest. And given her role in the comics, gunning Steve down, it is possible that Sharon is a double agent who betrays Cap & co. If she sneaks up on Cap with a gun at any point all bets are off.

I'm starting to feel like after Revenge, I just see Emily Thorne instead of Sharon Carter in this movie.

«This scene is set an an international intelligence operations center, with Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp), in the background with Anthony Mackie's Falcon and Chris Evans' Captain America, with Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) on the opposite side of the glass. Carter, whose relation to his World War II flame Peggy Carter hasn't been established yet in the films, became a love interest for Cap in the comics. "I think he's looking," Evan says. "You know, I think he's certainly open to it. Sharon is obviously relevant, but ... we don’t have to tie it up in one movie. So they have time."»
SJ:
«There is little room for romance in Civil War; I think there is a lot going on that doesn’t really involve big heart-to-hearts. »
Thank God, no stupid love story at least in this film. I love Russos so much, they truly understand, what they are doing.

This doesn't suggest 100% no love story at all. It suggests that like in TWS they might further plant the Staron seed and build on their budding romance and friendship perhaps. I'm glad Evans suggests that they might happen in IW.

SJ's comments might also be referring to herself. She said little room for romance, not NO room for romance. She said BIG heart-to-hearts so maybe there will be a small hearts-to-hearts.

It makes her look like she's put on weight.

So, no ScarletVision or Staron for that matter? How sad. :csad:

Oh, yes, I totally believe that.:o Especially with the first Evans' rule in the interviews as "Never say never" and the same talk about seeds after TWS and her allegedly big role in Cap 3. But I'm sure, you will see great True Love in every interaction between them, even on the funeral.
It's obvious, that Evans doesn't consider TWS as set up for them. When asked about romance in TWS, he talked about stuff with Peggy and Natasha. Oh, yes, and he and Peggy never got together, that was the budding romance, but she was still his love interest he was not just "open" for that.
So, no ScarletVision or Staron for that matter? How sad. :csad:
It's still Cap's film, please leave ScarletVision for the Avengers.

CE's comments indicate that Cap still hasn't developed any game. His quote is oddly and funnily worded, though:

I think he's looking...I think he's certainly open to it... Sharon is obviously relevant, but ... we don’t have to tie it up in one movie.

So funny. Either he's being very mindful of Disney snipers, or the romantic subplot hadn't been worked out at the time of the interview, or the romantic seeds have failed to sprout. Because earlier interviews about Cap3 prior to filming indicated he was looking forward to a possible romantic development.

It's also interesting to read SJ's comments and RDJ's comments. It's like each is aware that the movie is from CAP'S PERSPECTIVE, and not primarily ABOUT THEM but because they both share top billing with CE, they each speak as if they are the co-protagonists when RDJ a happily admits that TS is the antagonist and Widow is highly motivated to stay in the middle. Whatevs.

I think there is some room for romance in this thing, sure. Tony will make moist angry /hurt eyes at Steve, Natasha will make moist exasperated dagger eyes at Steve, Bucky and Steve will make moist nostalgic eyes at each other, Falcon will make moistly loyal eyes at Steve and ditto for Sharon. And Steve and Sharon will sorta flirt until Sharon is required to demonstrate what a badass agent she is and Steve gets distracted by all the other moist eyes. And Bucky.

So...love and passion is all around.

It's hideous. When I saw that in the trailer I assumed it was a bullet proof vest.

How can this team be so good with the hair and so bad with the wardrobe? (Case in point: Maria Hill's SHIELD office uniform in TWS in the deleted scene -- just awful!)

But most of the wardrobe is great except when it isn't and that's for some reason with female agents not named Natasha. :woot:

I'm glad to read Evans' comment that Steve & Sharon's relationship have time to develop, which I hope will eventually come to fruition in a future movie.

Yeah, before filming, in an earlier EW interview he said Cap will be in a relationship with a woman. In this interview during filming he's strongly implying that there won't be a romantic relationship and Cap's just thinking about it.

Then in The Talk interview after filming's completed when asked if there will be romance in CW for Cap he says, "I hope so, that's the one thing that's been hard for him to kinda navigate, he has always kinda been of service, and he feels very comfortable in a uniform, so you can't give too much away with these movies. Hopefully, on this one day, they give him a shot at love. "

Yeah there has been script changes during filming. They'll probably just show a growing connection and friendship between Staron in CW. I'm really not sure if a speck of romance or affection will be shown.

That's disheartening to hear, but hardly surprising.

Where is this time they have, though? I doubt it'll play into IW as anything more than a cameo. And a Cap 4, if it happens at all, would come 4 or 5 years after this, and at the rate things are going is going to involve major subplots with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Or script rewrites nerfed Sharon to give more time to character who already have the benefit of more than four minutes of screentime.
