I don't want Sharon just to be Cap's lover. But from what EVC said in the interview it indicates that they'll be working together in some capacity which will help them get to know each other and get closer :woot:.

Yes, this is exactly what I would like... To see if the two actors will work better together once given more substantive material to work with.

I'm very interested to see how their coffee date scene plays out. I'd like some insight into Sharon's relationship with Peggy.

Hell no. MCU Nat does not possess comics Sharon's personality, she possesses comics Sharon's role except the lover part. MCU Nat doesn't even possess comics Nat's personality, SJo's doing her own version/interpretation. Comics Nat is slick, Russian, and femme fatale, not wooden and subdued in a way. Comics Sharon is more fiery, ballsy, and passionate; EVC demonstrated a little of these in TWS when she questioned that bald-headed agent and when she stood up to Brock to defend that tech guy. EVC in an interview said she has taken ideas from the different comics and incorporated it into her own MCU Sharon version.

".

I have been thinking about MCU Nat lately being very different from the comics version. She just seems younger (well, she is younger obviously, not being an old-timer like Cap and Bucky) and really innocent to me. Even if she is supposed to be different from Steve (who is also really innocent compared to his comic counterpart), she just seems so... Woodenly endearing? Like almost adolescent-like bc she was never allowed to be her own person. Her "romance" with Bruce was like someone having their first crush.

Melinda May reminds me more of comic Nat.

I love the way she said this (also- I love all her arm gestures and facial expressions when she talks)- will be so nice to see these two characters interact more, and I think Sharon is going to be awesomely badass, in her own adorable way.

I will say this about EVC: she is proudly waving her comic book nerd flag at least when she talks about her character.

Me too, I'm looking fwd to this scene where Sharon looks sure of herself but Cap looks kinda nervous since it's probably his first date ever.

Too bad we might not get a Sharon/Peggy quick scene in the very least or we might since Hayley showed up on the CW set under the pretext of "visiting".

At least she did her homework on the character and I'm hoping her interpretation/characterization is likable.

I get that most of the actors have done their own interpretation of their characters. But apart from not resembling BW in stature and athletic physicality, SJo's characterization of BW is somewhat off and again wooden. Melinda May only reminds me of comic Nat in terms of being well-seasoned and for lack of a better term "battle-hardened". Yes SJo's younger, but look at other younger actors who played very mature characters for their age like Kirsten Dunst's Claudia, or that girl robot from Tomorrowland.

I agree MCU Nat comes across like an innocent girl and this especially showed with the Bruce romance and the way SJo played BW in Iron Man 2.

I kind of agree with this, and I think it stems from her background in the Red Room, and how she had her childhood stolen from her and is only now forming bonds with others. Even in her scenes with Cap, in TWS, she was trying hard to maintain her spy facade though Cap's trust was slowly bringing it down.

It would be interesting to have a convo between Sharon and Nat and see how their different personalities mesh (or don't mesh) together.

(Also, I want them and Maria Hill to take Wanda out for drinks... Like a Superheroine Night Out.)

Well it's implied that Sharon/Nat are friends in TWS where she acted as the wingman for Staron and they have a little fight in CW as per EVC. Since the Russos are in love with SJ/BW I expect her to just beat EVC/Sharon.

I would love a scene with just the women exchanging battle/mission stories.

It's very interesting to me and I'm also fascinated by her relationship with Fury (SLJ has had some great comments about being like a father to her ) and Hawkeye- I wish someone at some point would take that relationship seriously and give us a but more background. She is aunty Nat- is he like a big brother to her? I like her little found family with these guys.

And yes I hope we get some good interaction between Sharon and Natasha! I don't know if they are friends or if Natasha just knows her as a former fellow shield agent.

Really? She's the Black freakin Widow! Sharon getting her ass kicked is not because the Russos are being fanboys. When it comes to hand to hand combat, Natasha is the best. When they do fight, Sharon might hold her own for a while, but no way would she beat Widow save for some plot induced stupidity. Like, maybe if Sharon's knocked down by Widow, and BW has her guard down, Sharon electrocutes her with a loose electrical wire or something.

Black Widow is also more popular than Sharon Carter, so why wouldn't Sharon lose?

So this is a popularity contest? I do recall after IM2 BW wasn't so popular. But with good writing and the novelty of being the only female avenger in TA helped BW become popular.

In TWS it would have helped if it had been Sharon chasing after Brock and fighting him instead of Sam to get a preview of how badass she is. Russos could've done something like this, but nope.

In Agent Carter, Peggy whooped Black Widow Dottie's behind.

In the comics Sharon is just as good as Widow. So if BW beats Sharon in CW it's because it was up to the writers/Russos.

Then, Sharon would have gotten her ass kicked. A woman would have been physically been beat down by a man, which isn't a good thing.

Oh, and Dottie was kicking Peggy's ass until Peggy kicked her out of the window.

IIRC Dottie was beating her with a baseball bat which should have put Peggy down. I guess Tv magic and adrenaline allowed Pegs to come back from that one.

No disrespect to Sharon but Black Widow is a superhero and one of the Avengers. She would be a massive underdog in that fight.

Black Widow got her ass kicked and her shoulder shot by Winter Soldier.

Wherever did the idea that Black Widow is a greater fighter than everyone come from, anyway?

In four movies she's went up against nameless HAMMER thugs, nameless Russian thugs, Hawkeye, nameless Chitauri minions, nameless French pirates, nameless HYDRA goons.

The only named she's gone up are Winter Soldier (and it wasn't much of a fight) and Hawkeye (who went toe-to-toe with her even though he's not known for his combat prowess). And Happy Hogan.

She's a great fighter, to be sure, though. Which is why her curbstomping Sharon like people want just ends up burying Sharon.

Yeah, Black Widow is more popular, which she achieved by being allowed to be the center/victor of scenes devoted to her.

Black Widow getting shot be Winter Soldier is different. Bucky was just a brainwashed robot man, while Rumlow was a sick and twisted **** that would have enjoyed beating a woman senseless. That wouldn't look good for the kiddies to watch.

I agree that taking out nameless mooks may not sound all that impressive, but fending off an alien invasion and going toe to toe against an army of killer robots is a pretty impressive resume!

I hope Sharon at least puts up a good fight. Besides, Widow beating everyone up so easily is boring. I'd like to see a good fight, but with Widow having the edge. She's way more popular and has that status quo of being an Avenger.

I don't think she's fighting BW at all. I think she and BW will team up briefly in the third act to take out some third party goons.

Nah. EVC said in an interview that she's fighting Black Widow, in this one scene.

who knows how thus fight will go. They may get interrupted at some point and no one "wins". They may be like "why are we fighting, I like you" and then go get pizza.

If it is the same interview with Entertainment Tonight, she said she had a small fight with BW which could mean alongside BW or against BW. We'll see. I'm not betting one way or the other.

Yes! Pizza Party! Maybe they both really, really, really like eachother. :cwink:
