Oh, my god. Just quit it. People have been saying that since her three and a half minutes in Winter Soldier. When has it taken anyone three movies to actually have a worthwhile role?

Apparently all that means is Cap gets the biggest part. The rest has to be devoted to bring in Ant-Man, to bring back Hawkeye, to give Vision and Wanda their own arcs, and to set up two franchises.

But yeah, the Russos don't hate Sharon.

Well I can understand why they would devote more time for those characters who aren't even major Cap characters in a Cap movie because they'll also get even more time in their own franchises and future Avengers movie.

No you quit it because crying about this isn't going to change anything and if you bothered to put what's at play into context with what's unfolding, then common sense would be prevailing on your end to see that Marvel have taken a different route to build her character. Get it through your head, she's a minor character for now. If you want to cry about it, sob into your pillow and not here. Thanks.

You're right it's too late, it's not going to change anything, but this is a Sharon Carter thread where we get to discuss (and vent) everything Sharon and that includes people who have deliberately and unexpected events that managed to foil plans of Sharon getting a prominent role in a Cap movie. CW was the last movie that we hoped Sharon would get justice in. Yes Sharon's a minor character in the MCU, but we were hoping that she would at least be a major supporting character in one Cap movie because she was a major character in the comics.

This isn't the comics though and with everything and everyone else included who are bigger characters and play pivotal roles within this particular story, it seems logical that she's not going to have a major role. In any case she at least is in the movie and I just saw a clip of her kicking ass so in that you can find Solace. The next time she appears I'm sure her role will be more significant but right now, especially after knowing what the events of this story entails for a few years now, it's not her rodeo and it's surprising some are so upset by this as if they didn't see this coming from quite some time.

(For the umpteenth time) this is also a Cap movie and Sharon's a Cap major character in his mythos who has kicked so many asses in the comics I've lost count since 1966. Sharon is a regular human, not SUPER just like Hawkeye and Widow and yet how come they're there? Pffft .

I just saw that Sharon/Widow/Tony/T'Challa vs Bucky, Kimmel clip and I swear that 5 secs of action she participates in better not be the only one.

Okay, bad news, telling from the reviews out now Sharon's hardly mentioned. I'm getting the vibe that her screen time is only equal to or lesser than Spiderman's. 10 mins of screen time is not enough to establish and develop her character.

Which makes me even more mad is that people (and by that i mean Stucky shippers and steggy) will say that "see it didn't need romance!!the romance was bad bc steve sharon sucks" instead of criticizing the writers and russo who are the reason this happened. If they had properly developped this romance, more people will be behind it (just like in the comics).

Again, that's exactly the rhetoric spoken last time.

Somehow, Black Widow fans get to complain that Marvel hasn't made a Black Widow movie.

Sharon fans can't even blow off steam without the Russos' adherents getting offended.

Why do you care? You're getting all the Avengers just like you want.

The Russos have had the opportunity to develop Sharon, they haven't.

There are others who will develop the rest, and other movies to do it in, not so for Sharon.

There's simply no more to it than that.

If Steve survives IW, if Steve is still Cap, if Marvel decides to make a Captain America movie at all, and if Marvel hires another director... Maybe.

Else, it'll be Captain America: Secret Invasion, co-starring Captain Marvel. Or Bucky Cap & Black Widow.

Maybe they would've gotten behind Sharon had a more capable actress than EVC been cast? That might be an unpopular opinion, I don't know I'm new to this board, but that's the main issue I have. Is Sharon a cool character in the comics? Yes. Does she have a ton of potential in the Cap world? Yes.....but perhaps with a different actress. Van Camp, IMO is just bland. That makes it hard to get excited for anything Sharon does as a character. I think that's how plenty feel with a character like Pepper as well.

In the previous pages of the forum, someone links articles stating that Emily had read an other script after she has done her scenes in TWS.
It wasn't Civil War, it was actually a Cap movie. Then the MCU decided to go with Civil War because $$ and because BvS was out the same year.The writers have been teasing for years that Sharon would have a bigger role so chances are she had way more than 10 mins of screetime in this first Cap 3 movie.

If it wasn't for BvS and Feige wanting do an other Avengers movie rather than Cap.
