I really wish Hayley would shut up. I'm glad her show was canceled. Peggy kissed Cap once and Hayley thinks Cap is off limits. Peggy is dead. Hopefully she'll stay dead and irrelevant.

Not only that but she want to give in to the crazy Bucky shippers. Giving the shippers what they want worked out so well for Arrow.![]()

I don't think most non-comic readers were familiar with any of Cap's supporting characters before they appeared in the movies. After the first film, Peggy is Cap's love interest for many, and Sharon was revealed as her niece in this one. Someone even blurted out "Uncle Steve" during my viewing, causing quite a bit of laughter during the kiss.
It's not her fault fans ask her questions. She's far from the only person who had that reaction.
The MCU is an alternate universe though. So much has been changed in this universe and there's no reason Sharon and Steve's relationship has to be the one thing that has to be true to the comics. Pepper being with Tony instead of Happy was one of the best decisions ever made in the MCU.
Those fans need to first learn to understand what they're viewing, because it was obvious that Steve and Peggy was never going past the infatuation stage in the MCU. Secondly, they could stand to read some old Cap TPBs to see that Steve and Sharon are canonical.
It's her fault when she gives answers like that.
I don't see why she should lie. Other actors in the franchise have teased or criticized parts of the franchise in the past.
If she doesn't like something she could just not comment. Don't bash parts of the franchise that gave you a big boost. It is called professionalism. Hell people do that in real life all the time not to insult others. I see people at work all the time that wear stuff that makes them look ridiculous. But people don't tell them that. Concepts like courtesy, politeness and not being a jerk. Hayley is kind of being a jerk to EVC here.
It was more than a kiss. She was the first woman to give attention to him, he was falling for her before that. She is also one of those responsible for him to save Bucky and Howling commands thus becoming Cap. He had a picture of her with him during the war. Peggy was special.
I don't see that at all. She made fun of an aspect of the movie that just about everyone else was as well. That's no bashing EVC.

Excellent post.I totally agree with you. At this point, please, better don't damage Cap's character more and leave him alone and his love life completely off-screen. It's clear that they've lost their chance to adress Peggy's problem in CW and now it's too late, because there are no more Cap's solo films and no one will waste the time on Staron in IW.I think Hayley was being fun in her interview comments, I don't think she was exactly undermining Steve and Sharon. The question was how do you think Peggy would react to the kiss, as far as Peggy the character goes I think she nailed it. Peggy is a very up front person--so I suspect she would think its a bit icky to make out with your dead ex's niece right after her funeral. And IT IS! Thats just a a logical thing, it was an inappropriately timed kissed. Not EVC's fault but it really just kind of sabotaged the pairing. Attwell said nothing that everyone else hasn't said already. The writers made the mistake. And i think it got left in just for BUckys and Sam reaction. Its one of the most talked about portions of the film but its their reaction that everyone likes not the kiss itself.
At this point I say enjoy Caps story as a solo figure...no strings attach ...the uncle that never gets married kind of guy. I am ok with it. Romance in the MCU is just not there. Sharon's character itself needs to developed or handled completely outside Steve's orbit if audiences want to take it seriously. If she really is an interesting compelling character we will want to watch her in other scenarios not just as Steve's love interest. As of right now she is not that appealing for me to want to watch her in anything else because no one has made her interesting. Both the character and EVC's depiction has really done nothing to further her development.
Or they can continue to just watch the films, since they seem to be enjoying them more than many of the folks in this thread.
