It's all just a friendly debate, and at times I've come across heated ones myself. Don't take it personally, and just take it easy. That's what forums and msgboards are for, offering and reading facts and different opinions and arguments.Well I was just never mind it isn't worth it, anyway I think I was better off as a lurker below the radar to be honest. I just don't fit in here, when I first found out about this place I thought why not I may end up making some friends here. So far its been nothing but the opposite but I'm used to it by now.

Don't become a lurker again universeman. Keep posting!
Let's start talking about Wanda again: Does anyone hope she gets a scene in CW as awesome as when she pulls out Ultrons 'heart' in AoU?
and yes I hope she gets a amazing scene. But I got to be honest there's a part of me that feels Marvel is biting off more than they can chew,
with a big cast, different storylines, and this isn't even a Avengers movie its a Cap movie.A good soldier was lost today.

Anyway, on the subject of Wanda, did anyone else order the Hot Toys AoU Scarlet Witch? She looks awesome and I can't wait for her to come in.
Paul Gitter, senior VP of licensing for Marvel at Disney Consumer Products said that they will build off the success of licensed products for Avengers: Age of Ultron, including a focus on a celebration of Captain Americas 75th anniversary, female apparel, healthy living and travel, and on marketing newer characters such as War Machine, Falcon, Vision, Black Widow and Black Panther.
I'm hoping when Civil War comes out there's some good stuff for her. I was a little worried that they didn't mention her at all when talking about which characters would be highlighted in the marketing.
Hope that was just a typo or Glitter forgot.
Well wasn't there a report where it said Disney is targeting Marvel at boys? if that is true then I can understand why they don't want to make any Scarlet Witch stuff for the marketing. It may be hard to sell it while the others wouldn't be hard to sell to boys, I mean what boy would want a Scarlet Witch toy? oh wait this boy that's who Lol.
According to Disney, little girls only like princesses. SW is not a princess.
Yep she no princess, but I see Black Widow is in the marketing while Scarlet Witch isn't.
Hopefully the toy companies will know how popular SW is and include her as well.So Marvel are going to ignore the only female team member with superpowers?Hopefully the toy companies will know how popular SW is and include her as well.

I am optimistic that they will. We saw how Funko reacted to the outcry over them not releasing Scarlet Witch or Black Widow Pops - they made them! I think Marvel and their marketing partners are waking up to their female audience.
They always change that poster every few years. Some are worried that they may be downplaying Scarlet Witch because she's still shared with Fox.
There was a recent licensing image and it had a lot of the newer properties (Black Panther, the Inhumans, Vision, ect) but conspicuously no Scarlet Witch. Even the rest of the New Avengers are there.

The backlash against the lack of Black Widow toys from women seems to have helped but it'll still be a while before we know what they do with SW on the merchandising front.

I think because she has such strong powers younger male fans would be more interested in merchandise featuring her than Black Widow.
Are they even doing anything with Wanda right now in the comics? Because I don't think I've seen her in any of the Secret Wars titles.

Like I said, when it comes to action figures, toy companies don't give a crap about the girls.
I don't think so. From the very beginning the problem was on the industry and distributors. The same discussions were coming up last year when people were pointing out stuff like Gamora getting shafted or replaced in GOTG merchandise. Even though there were some Gamora figs, it was less than the stuff being done for the guy characters, which happened in the Avengers franchise as well.
The problem was never that Black Widow stuff doesn't sell, the problem was that the toy companies weren't making much of it, hence the entire controversy. That's not going to magically change just because Scarlet Witch is around. Until the two characters start getting the same marketing push that the men have, the entire issue is moot.
Which is why it's encouraging that they mentioned Widow along with the men in the merchandising pitch.

Steve & Peggy are a mighty might have been but I think it's obvious they were also in love during the years they knew and worked together. They didn't get their chance for HEA because of war and then death and time but they were in love. The movies and Agent Carter have both played heavily into this.
A kiss, a dance or sex are not the criteria for romantic love.
Tony had meaningless sex with that reporter (and scores of others) but it was Pepper who loved him and cried over his return. Pepper who probably had loved him for years until he realized he felt the same in IM and he hadn't even had sex with her. Go figure.

I did get a Scarlet Witch minifig and two action figures for Ian to play with... Also, for me
And i've mostly only bought Avengers Assemble gear for Ian since it is more likely to feature Widow as part of his team... After all, I'm his Black Widow Mommy!
That said, the bozos running the marketing show at Disney are missing out on extra millions of dollars in extra revenue simply b/c of outdated notions of who will/will not buy toys. It's stupid and lame and Hasbro really needs a talking to. Hope it changes for CIVIL WAR.
