Mystery/Thriller BBC's Sherlock

Ricky Gervais or Simon Pegg as Moriarty :) .

Another idea I have is JASON FLEMYNG. He does British TV, remember Primeval?

I have to wait for it to air on PBS...in November or something. I'll have to re-check.

Just want to say, I really love the music for this show BUT does anyone else think it sounds A LOT like the music from the 2009 movie?

I've heard people say that. I never watched the 2009 movie, though.

It just seems like the notes and general theme are exactly the same. I wouldn't be surprised if they like bought the rights or something. Its not bad because the music is good and everything.

Watson's girlfriend is cute too.

I noticed that too. It did remind me alot from the movie. The music is great though. I like its quirkiness.

Just watched the first three episodes last week at my friend's house. He had them downloaded off the net. I don't know what website he uses for his downloads though. I really enjoyed all three episodes and hope to see more in the future.

Any news on when this is returning?

Not sure... i only know it IS returning.... and possibly with a longer run as well

Yeah, last update I read was "Sherlock will return". When and how long or two different questions.

I think that it is unlikely that the BBC license fee will be frozen while services are cut and taxes are raised here in Britain. I think the institution will be asked to find savings. Will that include a "big beast" from its light entertainment stable?

I would imagine that either Doctor Who, Merlin or 'Holmes will be put on hiatus.

Let's hope it's Merlin...

i'd prefer the rubbish that is Eastenders being cut than the three you mention

That just wouldn't happen. Eastenders is cheap, old, and beloved by the unwashed masses. I think the BBC will try to sacrifice something of better quality with higher production values, in order to make its own political point. I just hope they don't try to put the cat among the pigeons by choosing the talismanic Doctor Who.

if it is done for a political reason... it will be Dr Who...

I think Merlin should go. It's pretty bad and I think Sherlock needs another chance. or take off some program like Total Wipeout or Watchdog (It started to like it but now that Anne Robinson has returned it's a bit meh)

Sherlock doesn't strike me as a particularly expensive show to make. A few real filming locations, no hiring crews to create sets, limited special effects, etc. So here's hoping they don't drop it.

Doctor Who is a huge franchise. As long as the ratings stay high and the tie-in merchandise keeps selling, I don't know why they'd get rid of it.

What has Merlin got?

Merlin is fun...i agree out of Who/Sherlock/Merlin, it is the weakest... but it's fun

It's just of the same style. Trying to evoke the era and tone of the books.

BTW, I think they are making more because BBCA is marketing this as SEASON 1 for their DVD release.

Good point. If it had been cancelled it would be marketed as "Sherlock: The Complete Series".
