Despite some uneven CG in the movie, this shot deserves an award of its own.

You need to get your eyes checked. The entire 3rd act especially that hentai-tentacle fight was CGI. Yeah some parts the CGI was impressive but in some scenes it wasn't especially the scene where Zod grabs Supes cape and spins him round and round until he lets go. Those were CGI doubles and it was so obvious. I think MOS should have had an Oscar nod in the VFX department. But you shouldn't get all defensive when somebody criticizes the CGI.
The final battle between Green Goblin and Spiderman was done practically. You need to get your eyes checked if you think this was all CGI.
You really can't havea practical Spiderman swinging between skyscrappers. You have to use CGI, it's inevitable.
MOS wasn't ground-breaking. The stuff with shock-waves and super-punches we've seen before. Did you watch the final fight between Neo and Smith in the 3rd Matrix film? Ir heck did you watch Hancock? We've seen it all before buddy.

Yes I'm serious, nothing in MOS was really that groundbreaking in terms of VFX, we've seen it all before really. Apart from maybe that shot of Faora using superspeed to kill the soldiers. But the Krypton stuff felt like Pandara or even the planet in John Carter, heat vision? yeah you just used the Cyclops thing as an example. It's been there, done that. MOS felt like everything from sci films in the last decade or so meshed into one film. I have seen it all before.
You can't really have Spiderman swinging between buildings without CGI. Funny enough, those Spiderman films were nominated for VFX. And to make things even funnier, Spiderman 2 which you're criticizing so much won an Oscar for VFX yet MOS didn't even get nominated.

If I were in the Academy, I would appreciate a superhero VFX when they can seamlessly combine real actors to CGI without noticing the difference in your first watch unlike a masked superhero which is far easier to make.

Please I recomend you to read better my posts because I didn't criticize Spidey 2. Even that movie which won an oscar had some issues that's what I'm saying. Even not BEING that much GROUNDBREAKING as you're claiming a movie needs to be spidey 2 won an oscar. But yeah because it's a marvel movie that doesn't matter

Don't put words in my mouth dude. Learn to read what I wrote. I said swinging between skyscrappers and tall buildings is not achievable without CGI. TASM made him swing in low low ground like under the bridge. All of the other shots of Spidey swinging in high ground were done using CGI.
That is what this thread is about! They threw it out in the first round itself. It won't be nominated.
